Mac and cheese picky eater question

ugh, my kiddo ordered mac and cheese at the BB and refused to eat it , because it wasnt the blue box crap..! ASD at its finest ! he sat while we all ate and then had something later..

you can get the recipes on line , could you make it before you go and get her to try it ? that way she will have an idea of what she will be ordering .
She won't even try anything unfortunately.:( I think we will mainly stick with chicken strips as we know she will eat that. I was trying to find other options but it doesn't look like that will happen.

It is Stouffers at Cafe Orleans, Blue Bayou, and French Market. Plaza Inn and Pizza Port use noodles and add the sauce you prefer. I will check other locations this weekend.
Noodles would work as well. She does eat noodles with butter and parmesan. So these are two more locations we can go to. Thanks!:o and I love Plaza Inn's fried chicken dinner too!! This is a win win!!:flower1:

And please do let me know if you find any other places. I appreciate your help with this!

My picky eating son is the opposite. When we go to restaurants his question is always- is your Mac n cheese hommmade? He doesn’t like Kraft. He does like Stouffers lol. My DD is a Kraft girl. Loves cheese, though. All kinds of weird cheeses- just not melted on her pasta. The only acceptable pasta cheese for her is Parmesan!

Unless there is a cognitive reason why she cant try something,, would reasoning with her help? if we try and make it at home with the Disney recipe you will know what you are in for and will know either way if you like it or not .? when my son was in feeding therapy they more often than not spoke about the foods etc and why they cant go down.. he started cooking some of his own foods, which helped him know what goes into the foods.. we also spoke about having more freedoms to travel and be involved in dinning with family while out. I know how hard it is to try and convince someone to eat when they have an eating disorder. and it feels tedious to try, knowing they will reject it. but there are ways to help them overcome it. Hope she has a good trip.. oh and be careful which instant mac and cheese you get,. the craft ones you need to put in the microwave.. :)

Kraft is served at UVA Bar, Catal, and ESPN Zone on the kids menus.

Those Mac and cheese easy Mac cups need to be cooked in a microwave for 2 minutes with boiling water. Hot water poured in doesn't work. We tried that and it was a massive failure. There is a microwave you can use at Whitewater Snacks and also in the buildings at the Disneyland Hotel, if you happen to be staying there. We cooked our Mac and cheese cups there one trip.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but there is a Dennys across the street and they have Kraft.
No one mentioned it. Thanks! Also Red Robin in which she loves is down the street on Harbor as well. We could always Uber if we have to.

That's perfect! We are staying at GCH. ESPN may be closed by the time we go there as our trip is in October. I am just researching in advance for this one trip. Usually me & DD21 come by ourselves as we are AP members. This trip is an all girls family trip so, I'm trying to make everyone happy.☺ I will check out the other restaurants. Thanks!

She's pretty tough and just shuts down and won't eat when we try and suggest other foods or her trying something. Its really difficult. That's why her mom has her in counseling. I did mention to her mom about the sensory issues so she could discuss that with the doctor and nutritionalist in hopes of getting somewhere with her issues. Its a real struggle. But thanks for your ideas and input, I appreciate it!☺

1) does she like yogurt apples and goldfish? then order the kids powerpack for her? it has milk. yogurt.apples. goldfish. and carrots i think? a few quick service places, like tommorrowland terrace have this.

2) is she a fan of the movie Cars? in carsland, at the cozy cone motel they have a Mac n Cheese cone. Maybe she might like to to try that if she is a fan of the movie?

We will check out the power pack, this is a great idea. I'm not sure if she likes cars. But I'm positive if the Mac n cheese isn't kraft she won't touch it unfortunately. Thanks for your suggestions.☺

I also have a picky Mac & Cheese eater. She only had 10 foods she would eat until she was about 17 and peer pressure made her try new things. Easy Mac prepared in the morning and put in a throwaway bowl shouldn't spoil before lunchtime. That's what I did for years for her, because I hate buying expensive food and then she wouldn't eat it. Luckily she's in college now and can always find something she'll eat. :flower3:

We have had to throw many meals away... This is why we research and show her pictures before wasting any more money...lol

My Mac and cheese eater is an autistic 13 year old. He will eat two things for lunch at school: pizza on pizza days and easy Mac (Annie's brand) in a thermos. He buys lunch twice a week and has Mac and cheese M, W, and F. We have been doing the thermos thing since he was in PRESCHOOL!

He is actually my less picky child. The other one eats under 15 food items. He is 12. He is finally starting to try (and like) new things and it is SO AWESOME! He will finally eat grilled chicken...with BBQ sauce, but still...
