i will be at WDW in October and my 180 days starts the 27th. I am trying to decide whether to to V&A. How long was your dinner? I would do the dinning room & the 7 course dinner. The only reason I am thinking about not doing it is the time it takes and if there will be too much food/too rich. Was the food very rich or too much?
Thanks! I was looking forward to trying it.

My son (adult) and I did it last August. We loved it, we also did the main dining room and each had wine pairings with our meals. The servings are small but by the time you get to the last course you are full, at least we were. A lot of the courses, I would only take a bite or two of and my son would finish them for me and even he gave up by dessert. It lasted about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. The cost for us, including tip was around $700 or $750, I can't remember but we did each have a wine pairing so that added about $200 extra. The food wasn't too rich and you do get a choice so you can pick the non-rich stuff. We loved it and while we wouldn't do it every trip or every year, we will certainly do it again in the future.

Does anyone know how customize-able the menu is?... I don't eat any kind of fish....

I haven’t been yet (going in October!) but my understanding is that they call you a few days before and will happily work with likes and dislikes, as well as allergies etc. I’m vegetarian and my husband has food allergies and everything I have read suggests that neither of these things will be a problem.

Just tell them when they call that you don't like fish and they will make sure there is something different for you. It is by far some of the best customer service I've had anywhere and I've eaten all around the world. They try their best to make sure you enjoy your experience.

I called to make the reservation, also for last August (a birthday that ends in "0" for DH), and at the time I made the reservation they asked about preferences and allergies. They called again about a week in advance as well. We are going to go again in 2019 for our 25th anniversary.

Do plan on spending the whole evening there. It is worth it. We started around 7:30pm and shut the place down.

Hi there. I've dined three times in the past 2 years, twice in the QV room for the 10 course and once in main dining for the 7 course. I also worked very recently in fine dining and dealt with these kinds of dinners.

For a 7 course, you realistically want to budget 2.5 - 3 hours. It will cap out a night at WDW. Tasting dinners are more experiences and aren't meant to be rushed. I highly encourage the wine pairings. I never found the food to be too much. The food can be rich as they do focus on sauces more than I've dealt with but I prefer it and keep a spoon with me at all times. There are several bread courses through out as well as amuse bouche and after dessert treats. If you're a burger and a beer or steak house kind of guy/gal, this may not be for you but if you can appreciate impeccable service in a quaint atmosphere as you experience 7 courses all whilst being serenaded by their harpist, I'd really encourage you to try it. 7 course with paring and no supplements should run you $250 (pre tax and gratuity).

If you do decide to go, request to be seated near the harpist. You can also request a kitchen tour during your dinner. Great experience every time, looking forward to returning soon.

Thank you. I did not know you can tour the kitchen - I will definitely ask. I assume you can get a glass or two of wine and not do the pairing? I am definitely going and someone here will be joining me. Looking forward to the experience and meeting a fellow dis.

Need to get a tailored suit before I can dine there.
LOL... I am worried about what to wear. At least I have a few months to decide. Then there is the choice of desserts - do I order a soufflé and which one or get something I don’t make. I will be so disappointed if they don’t have soufflés on the dessert menu! Decisions decisions dicisions! Life can be so rough.

They can accommodate that. You will be speaking with a host a few weeks prior to discuss these things. I worked in fine dining and this happens all the time, you're good.

Disney gift cards? Yes. They are apart of WDW.
You sold me but no availability for my date.... Damn! Thanks for the info anyway.

Spots open up over time. Keep checking. I did the 10 course in the main dining room. I wouldn't say it was too much food or too rich. Pretty much perfect!
