Starting Today, Fuel Up Your Tank with this New Menu at Flo’s V8 Café at Disney California Adventure

For those who loved the ribs, rejoice! They were the Blue Plate Special today.

They are actually listed on the app menu under Blue Plate Specials too.

We ate here yesterday. My kids loved it and I was mostly happy with the fried chicken, although I ended up with pieces that were fried to within an inch of their lives. The skin was so crispy it made audible crunch noises as I ate it (good!) but the chicken itself was more like jerky (bad). The mashed potatoes were great and the veggies (broccoli and cauliflower) were excellent. The place was PACKED. We waited in line about 20 min at 2:30pm.

Still prefer the fried chicken at Plaza Inn, but this is a good option at DCA.

The sandwiches are HUGE. Definitely shareable.

It is a shame they removed the healthy version chicken off the menu. If they want to serve fried, fine, but leave the roasted chicken on the menu for an option of NOT getting everything fried. My daughter and I loved the chicken when we were there this past April. I wish I knew they were going to remove it from the menu, I would have stopped and filed a comment. I will send an email about it. Funny how they removed the healthy chicken from the menu and added the fried here, and at Golden Horseshoe they removed the fried chicken strips and replaced it with some kind of chicken. Disney, please, just add choices, not switch things out. Let us decide how healthy we want to eat on vacation.

I thought about a few things when I was looking over this menu change. There is already a non-fried chicken option available at the Cocina Cucamonga in the Pacific Wharf area which is nearby. There was no fried chicken in DCA and as evidenced by the long lines at Plaza Inn, fried chicken is popular at the resort. While I liked the most recent iteration of Flo's chicken, I was always mildly irritated that it was close in price to the French Market chicken and tasted nearly the same but was a much smaller portion. DCA also had the problem that there was only one counter service location in the whole park at which to get a hamburger. While I have no love for Disney counter service burgers, there are many people that find a regular burger comforting and an easy, safe go-to. Honestly, a burger fits in well at a diner and at a location frequented by families with small children. I haven't really loved the Flo's menu since the last change but am still sad to see my last favorites go. I'm going to give this new menu a chance though. I'm sure there are one or two items I will be willing to eat though I will skip that pedestrian burger.

Had the pot pie yesterday and it was good, not great. but good. I was able to substitute the steak fries for the fruit. The steak fries were excellent. Ribs with mashed potato and steamed veggies is currently the blue plate special (16.99). I was told by a manger that the blue plate special will change every month or two. Soon to come specials will be: pork chops, chicken fried chicken and a hot open face turkey sandwich.

Your story gives me hope. My 10YO daughter has struggled with severe eating issues her entire life, eating so little because of texture/taste issues that she had to have a feeding tube. She's SLOWLY emerging from it.

Hugs to your DD! It took me such a long time, and like I said, I was an adult before I was ready to really make an effort to get past it, and then it took me years. Keep hoping!
