Anyone up? Harry & Meghan Royal Wedding Watch thread

It is her 2nd wedding (her first, I think, she had a bridal party) so maybe she wanted to keep it more simple but then again........she was marrying a true Prince the 2nd time around. ;)

Having technical difficulties but to get back to the seating - celebs and friends. I wonder if the celebs sitting up front had to do with security.

In both pictures (there's another of Harry and Meghan with just the kids).

That one's lovely too. :lovestruc The photographer is extremely talented to be able to compose these shots in such a way as to make them suitably "formal" but yet comfortable and winsome.

I thought I heard it was traditional for attendants to be under the age of 11 (except for MOH and Best Man).
::yes:: Lots of English weddings only have children as attendants. Must make for a fairly tame bachelorette party though. :lmao:
She had to actually show the dress to the Queen for approval. That could be when the Queen let her pick which tiara & jewelry to wear with it.
That sure isn't much of a shock.

Anyone have any info on what went on after the wedding? I read something about there being several receptions and even an after-after party. We haven’t seen much about it, though. I read there was a place for guests to rest and change outfits, and that at least at one of the receptions, guests had to stand. Prince Charles hosted one party at a historic home.

Meghan Markle is a wealthy woman on her own, and she already had a great, sophisticated lifestyle. She gave up something precious by marrying him, which was her freedom.

I may be in the minority, but I've always thought I'd love to be rich, but not famous. Add to the fame the many restrictions imposed on a royal, and it's not all fun and games.

How many stuffy royal functions can you attend before it gets old. Sure, there's glitz and glamor, dressing up jewelry, but she had that before. I bet she attended many fun Hollywood parties, and she did when she wanted.

A gain, I think I'm in the minority that a royal lifestyle is not one that I'd consider an enviable lifestyle, especially for someone who was born and raised outside of it.

I thought it was so sweet how much in love they looked during the ceremony. I wish them all the best. But it won't be easy.

I tend to agree. I was reading an article online the other day that Meghan can no longer do some harmless normal things she's used to doing. She's not permitted to take selfies with fans, can't sign autographs, can't go anywhere without security guards. Among many other things. Some of the wackier things I read is that she can only wear neutral color nail polish and nothing dark, and she can't wear wedge shoes simply because the Queen does not like them.

I'm just a poor commoner.
"Common" is such a harsh word...here's mine:

Maybe the one looking the wrong direction is the youngest one? Seems she was having a rough day.

I was secretly hoping the kids would misbehavior more than they did. :rotfl2:

You are bad, wicked even.

Having done my share of corraling young ones during children's church I could not imagine being the person(s) responsible to keep that motley crew in check, noise not even to a dull roar AND hair and clothing presentable to return the little poppets back to their audience. All it takes is one kid who gets a wild idea of how to make it really fun and it sets off the others in a nanosecond.

All 600 guests who were in the church were invited to bowl food lunch at Windsor Castle immediately after the service. This is basically a standing up buffet with wine.

Prince Charles then hosted an evening black tie dinner for 200 guests at Frogmore House which is half a mile south of Windsor Castle. Megan and Harry requested that details of this event remain private and Sky News have speculated that there was a no mobile phone, no camera rule at this event. This event officially ended at 11pm with a firework display which could be seen across the sky in the town of Windsor.

Assumed you meant her wedding day. I was hopeful that was what would be seen on Saturday as a very public homage to her.

Her sister certainly made you think of her strongly with a resemblance that age seems to have made stronger -- vocally, the way she shapes her mouth when speaking, even her looks brought Diana to mind strongly in a way I didn't notice about her before.

Is this a typo, or is there something really called a bowel food lunch?

When it was first announced that she'd have no maid of honor as she couldn't choose between all her female friends, I thought that would just mean she'd have 8 adult female bridesmaids. But, when it was announced that little George & Charlotte would be part of her bridal party along with some other children, I then thought it odd that she would not have even a couple adult female friends in attendance. :confused3

And when someone posted the seating chart, none of her close gfs got any of the good seats, only very famous celebs like the Clooneys, Serena Williams &one co-star from Suits. So all her closest BFFs sat in the cheap seats? :confused3

I have to wonder if having grown up with such wacky half-siblings made her wary & distant from making really close friendships. :(

She moved to Toronto to star in the cable TV show, Suits, which she had been on for 3-1/2 years before even meeting & knowing Harry.

what I read had really nothing to do with Harry. Had more to do with her ex-husband and how she changed once she got that role. But this is all speculation and basically online "news" I like to read to pass the time in my boring life LOL!

Well, how unprofessional of the designers not to have taken that into account, especially since like ronandanette said, it was silk taffeta and that fabric is pretty much expected to wrinkle. No wonder those designers seem to have disappear after then wedding. They were virtual unknowns who were given the chance of a lifetime, designing the wedding gown for what it was truly the wedding of the century over well established designers. unfortunately, they couldn't pull it off.
they did a lot of work with her for years after her wedding. I think they divorced and split the biz and she went on for a while with much success in london

Dont think so.. the whole area had definitely a perimeter that went well beyond the estate

It’s like she won the lottery. She won the role of a lifetime. I’m pretty sure she loves Harry, who wouldn’t love any man that would give her this lifestyle.

Well, me, for one, lol. While the lifestyle may be great, I would't love someone just because they could give it to me.

I think there is genuine love there...the lifestyle is a lucky bonus.

If that is true then Kate is disobeying the queen. She wears wedge shoes a lot. Just google "kate middleton wedge shoes" and there are dozens of photos of her in her famous wedges.

Yes and no, she was “successful” but from one show, whether her acting success continued after Suits ended is an unknown. She was wealthy compared to you and me, but I doubt hardly set for life on the basis of her acting success in the one show.
She does seem to have a genuine interest in philanthropy that has nothing to do trying to impress others or shape a good public image.

Where as I believe Kate would have married Will if he was a carpenter, that she married him despite him being a Royal not because of it. I’m not 100% on Meghan.

and she can't wear wedge shoes simply because the Queen does not like them.

PP pipped me to it, but Kate wears them all the time.

Here's the Official Family Portrait - it's lovely! I wonder how many tries it too to get all the kids looking the same direction! :goodvibes

Well I am not a huge fan of the dress or hair.
I do think these photos are beautiful, all 3 that I have seen are gorgeous and her hair looks beautiful in the one on the stairs.
The dress seems to have photographed well.
