Which do you prefer.....garden/pool view or boardwalk view??
Just trying to get opinions as we will be booking a 2BR next June. Haven't stayed at BWV since '09

Thanks!!!!

Personally I always loved the views from the upper villas overlooking the canal and quiet pool. But I generally prefer quieter and more relaxed. Boardwalk view and feature pool were just too noisy for me.

We prefer BW view too, like Bill. But it depends on what characteristics are important to you, as Debbie Jean says!

Be forewarned, since you haven't been there since 09: The trees in these areas have grown up (and out)! So, even though you may select a garden/pool view, it may be partially or mostly blocked by a large tree. Not the worst thing in the world, but it can be a little disheartening to open up your curtains for the first time and have a big tree staring you in the face.

We haven't had a boardwalk view yet, but we have our first one booked for December. I'm super excited to experience the new view!!

Going beyond asking for opinions here in this forum, you should know that the Boardwalk View is in much more demand than the Pool/Garden view. They are the same amount of points, and Boardwalk View rooms book up much more quickly than the Pool/Garden View.

I would book Boardwalk View, and if your research uncovers that for some reason Pool/Garden is a better fit for you, you should have no problem switching to that right up to (and including) the 7 month mark. However, Boardwalk View will probably not be available much after the 11 month booking date. So booking Boardwalk View gives you more flexibility if you decide to switch views.

Boardwalk view is awesome EXCEPT when you get a room down by Jellyrolls. Too loud at 2am. We now prefer pool/garden.

Own at BWV and consider Boardwalk view the best room view at WDW (and I have done theme park view at BLT) but it can be difficult to get unless using the 11 month booking window.

We have only stayed standard and P/G views. But we twice got the village green P/G view which is a sideways boardwalk view and overlooks that green grassy area. We won't likely ever do BW view or request village green again as it was pretty noisy until 11-12 at night. Not a big issue and did enjoy sitting on balcony to people watch but we just prefer tucked away and quiet. I like the standard view for point saving so that's #1 what I always try to book. We do have P/G view in Dec. Not sure what request I'll make. Like first floor for easy access to several exits, but can be noisy. Like end near HS as easy access to stairs down and door out towards HS. Had one room with fireworks view and that was my fave but a long long walk from elevator.

We had standard view twice and both time the trash trucks woke us up. I prefer some kind of pool view at BWV. Overall the area is pretty quiet at night. Love those canal views!!

We will never request a Boardwalk view due to the noise although I expect the view is spectacular and the Village Green view was just that, a view of the green with a possible view of the stairs to the lobby and lots of noise from the Boardwalk at night, we never used our balcony because we were always on display. As you can tell I like peace and quiet at night. So if you are person that thinks of the crowds on the Boardwalk is exciting then it would be perfect for you. To me the perfect view is of the canal and quiet pool.

Noise is something that is really personal. If you live in a city in a condo overlooking a busy street, BWV noise is nothing. If you live out in the country, where your nearest neighbor is half a mile down the road and the noise you get at night is frogs and crickets, BWV is really loud. I live in the 'burbs and find BW View noise noticeable, but not disturbing (except when Illuminations is happening, that crosses into loud - but doesn't last long).

If you don't have home resort advantage, you may not get a choice and end up with Preferred View. June should be pretty easy for the 7 month window to get that, but I'd say you have a less than 50% chance of having BW View open at seven months.

We also like the Boardwalk view but find the lower floors noisy so if that would be an issue then pool/garden view would likely be better. For me it was Disney waking up in the morning and carts rolling across the boardwalk planks. There often is the late night yelling too as people leave Jelly Rolls.
