2019 Princess Half Marathon Weekend

all the stinking time. I'm blessed as I could just log into hubs acct in past and get in that way. No I'm not sure how I'm gonna break in

Well, at least I know I am not the only one. Sorry you are going through this now too. I was on hold with Disney IT for a while and then had to hang up. When I have an hour plus to kill I will try back.

I need this taken care of by 8/2. I cannot miss the pre-reg

Has anyone heard reports from the WDW Marathon weekend registration that opened yesterday? Any problems, issues, or tips we could use for when our turn comes?

Things I would be aware of is when you are put in the queue (after clicking register link on runDisney), that page will refresh on its own & there is no countdown. These are both normal. Check your profile under manage account now to make sure it's correct. Double check auto fill doesn't change anything as you go when registering and on the payment page. Some people did get pending charge(s) for registration(s) that didn't go through for whatever reason. Those should drop off as they are pending. So, they weren't getting the confirmation page, nothing in their manage account dashboard and no email (emails could come slow). So, basically it was if you don't get a confirmation (check on your dashboard or email) you had to re-register. I'm sure IT is working hard to correct issues for Princess. Have patience & pixie dust as waits to get in may be slower to avoid issues I would think maybe.

Oh, and also it's only ONE form of payment (one gift card, credit card or Rewards Chase card). You can combine gift cards on Disney Gift Card site. You can use Debit card but personally I would avoid Debit if possible with the issues yesterday.

Can we now register more than just ourselves? Say my running party of 3?

Yes, you can:) You have to fill out their information for each one. It populates it only for the first one when you are doing "myself". Go to the register for the marathon now and check it out to give you an idea.

They will show up in your account only though. You only get the email confirmation. You will manage them and be the one that can edit things like proof of time. There is a way for them to claim them to their account (in FAQs it talks about how), but sounds like a pain with emailing.

If someone has a ton of people I would probably break it up into multiple registrations.

Last year’s princess weekend was my first runDisney event. I did the 5K and the 10K. I’m planning to register for the Fairy Tale Challenge this year. I’ve run numerous 5Ks and 10Ks, but this will be my first half marathon!

I’m planning on doing a 10K for POT. I know we don’t have an exact answer, but do we know approximately what a good 10K finish time would be for me to have a half marathon finish time under 2:45?

Also, is there a reason why they ask if it’s your first half-marathon during registration? Just curious!

Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much, this is helpful. It's always so stressful having my group trying to register at the same time and some of us get in and some do not. Since I work from home and work in travel, I am always the "group leader" anyway. Crossing my fingers with a successful registration.

Being from CA, I have been heartbroken to have lost our runs out here. Missed Run Disney in 2018 with no events :( Excited to get back in 2019.

Head over to the marathon thread @DopeyBadger has all sorts of stuff on corral times he has analyzed - https://www.disboards.com/threads/marathon-weekend-2019.3655674/page-246#post-59499686

Thanks! I’m actually following the marathon thread, but I didn’t realize the charts would apply for all of the races :upsidedow please excuse my runDisney ignorance lol!
Yeah, the cutoff for proof is the same for all. Princess & Marathon are identical for corrals as it's the same set up for both weekends so anything you read on it for Marathon will be the same for Princess. There's no ignorance, just not knowing, we were all there once, so ask away as people here have tons of good knowledge/advice :)

Wondering this myself- doesnt seem like it would be possible but I would like to hear from someone who tried.

As far as I know for AP, they have to be family members in the same household.

Agreed. These educated guesses on corral cutoffs (bottom table) would be appropriate for Princess Weekend as well since the corrals in 2018 matched up. Seems to me runDisney is moving away from the "Set number of bibs per corral" to a model of "set the POT required and do mini-waves inside corrals to alleviate congestion". So for a 10k POT and a 2:45 HM corral (Corral E), I would estimate the cutoff to be very close to 1:14:46. As a second example, if someone had a 59:50 minute 10k as a POT, then they would likely be in Corral C (between 54:23 and 1:01:11). The times listed are to "gain access" to that next corral.

An important consideration for corrals is more the number of bibs ahead of you. For Princess HM 2018, there were ~26000 bibs. Approximately 17000 of those runners (65% of bibs) were in Corrals F, G and H (non-POT corrals). So from a numbers standpoint, there is a significant difference in "number of bibs ahead" depending on which corral you are assigned.
