Torn Between 3 Restaurants

I'd vote for Cali Grill, but If you haven't booked it yet that might be a tough one to get.

If you have a Cali Reservation and it is a party night you will have to check the party schedule to know when they will have fireworks. If you have an earlier reservation then you have a couple options -- keep your receipt and then just go up back up to Cali grill for the fireworks. Another option would be to do a little monorail tour after dinner and catch fireworks at poly beach and possible hit trader sams for an after dinner drink. Although i think the view of the fireworks from up at Cali Grill will be much more impressive.

Have not been to Shulas or Yachtsman as we don't tend to go to Steak Houses on vacation.
Have been to California Grill many times and always enjoyed it. If you can time it to be there during the fireworks, even better.
Since you have not been there, an even better reason to try.
If you haven't tried it, I would also suggest Jiko at AKL. Another amazing restaurant with very good food and an interesting menu.

I don’t think you can go wrong with those choices, but if the 3, I say California Grill since you haven’t been there yet.

I love the Yachtsman and I’m sure Shula’s is to-die-for, but for a romantic evening, you cannot beat the views at CG.

That’s how this dilemma started. I searched for open reservations to see if I could move our Yachtsman reservation around slightly. There was a 7:10 California Grill opening and now here we are. So at least that’s one less hurdle.

I love the idea of taking a spin on the monorail if we have time!

Cali Grill hands down... can't beat the view, the experience of fireworks on the balcony and hey the food was pretty good both times I ate there! One night DH and I did it as our date night, we watched the fireworks then headed into MK for eve emh which was a lot of fun. The second time we ate there with our then teenagers who really enjoyed the experience. We did it as a sort of "rest night" off our feet. We took a monorail ride after. We always take a Lyft (or cab before Lyft) to resort dining to save time.

I don't know what time fireworks are on your night but if not until later you can always return to the restaurant to watch the fireworks from the balcony by showing your receipt. So you could go take a monorail ride or explore around and come back.

Another vote for the California Grille and make sure to let them know it’s your anniversary, they will often “ plus up “ your experience ;)

I havent been to Shulas, but have been to CG and YS a few times each. IMO, CG is much better, especially food and atmosphere. YS is good, but CG is incredible. Staff at both are wonderful, so whatever you choose, you will at least be treated well!

Fireworks are 8:55 that night (I mistakenly thought it was MNSSHP but it’s not), so if service is slower we may not have time to leave and come back. I’m okay with that, we can get an after dinner drink or go see the Mary Blair mural in the lobby and come back with our receipt.
