From Disney to Pt Canaveral, uber/lyft??

Check out Cocoa Beach Shuttle. They may be cheaper and I had good experiences with them.

We booked round-trip transportation from our Universal hotel to Port Canaveral last year for our Royal Caribbean cruise with Tony Hinds - http://taxi-mco.com/Drivers/Tony Hinds.htm - he is often recommended on the boards and very reputable. We found his pricing to be on par with the other shuttle services or car services, if not slightly less. We actually had a 3 part trip that he accommodated with no issue.

Following along as I am going on a cruise in October and have the same question. Right now I have a rental for my whole trip and plan to just park at the port but might change my mind if the cost turns out better.

We ended up doing it December 31, 2016. We had booked a limo to take the 5 of us and our luggage, but she kept calling and delaying pick up and then said she was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on world drive. Finally, at 1:15, we booked an UberXL (original pick up was scheduled for 9:30 a.m.). We made it with little time to spare, but he did a great job for us.

Wow, that's awful -- almost 4 hours delayed! You would do a service to the people here to identify that company. You may prevent someone from missing their cruise.

I emailed this guy and his price is really high for 2 people. I will stick with renting the car that I will already have. If I wasn't that Coco Beach Shuttle does have decent rates.

Just another possibility worth mentioning. My wife and I did it with our kids and I think it was the cheapest and least stressful of our options.
1. Fly in a day early
2. Rent a car
3. Book at room at Country Inn and Suites in Port Canaveral
4. Either leave your car parked their for free as part of they stay and sail package, or return your car about a mile away and walk/uber back
5. Take their free shuttle to port
6. Take the free shuttle back and either rerent a car, or pick yours up from the parking lot.

The car rental piece also means that you can run by Walmart or somewhere similar for toiletries, and ABC liquor for beer/wine (not sure if they can be brought on RCCL). That could be cheaper than checking a bag that contains those items.

Renting a car or taking Uber will almost always come out cheaper than utilizing a car service. Tony is ideal for people who don't want to do the driving themselves and have multiple people and/or need car seats. He will also add a liquor store or grocery stop on a trip to the cruise port if someone wants to bring something onboard.

It was Michael Robinson with executiveviplimosine.com. I just tried to go to the site and apparently it doesn't exist anymore. (We know why.)

I was wrong, our original pick-up time was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. I think she started calling me about 9:00 to tell me that her pick-up heading to the airport was late coming off their ship and she would be a little late picking us up. I agreed to this. She later blamed it all on me for agreeing to a later pick-up. When she didn't show, we started calling back and forth and there was once excuse after another. Why she thought coming World Drive to pick us up from BLT was a good idea on New Year's Eve, I have no idea. After I called the driver and Michael to cancel, he stopped taking my calls. I had to have my TA (a good friend) get in contact with him to try to cancel the return trip. He insisted he would be there to pick us up, and he was. However, no real apology was given (he said he told her not to take World Drive), and he didn't even discount the return trip. Needless to say, there was no tip given.

It was an extremely stressful way to start our cruise. My DH was getting extremely agitated which then upset our DD, whose Sr. trip this was.

With no exaggeration, after standing in line to check in (why I wanted to be at the port by 11:00 a.m.), we had time to drop our carry-ons in our room and while doing that the bell for the muster drill was called. We cut it way too close.

Could have been worse.

I gave a ride last New Years Eve mid-day to a Norwegian Cruise Lines 7 day cruise at Port Miami. Mom, Grandma, 20 y/o and 16 y/o sons -- and needless to say, LOTS of luggage. Everything went well, and I moved on with my day.

Two rides later, I had an airport run to MIA. Unloading luggage, I unloaded a large garment bag. Riders said it wasn't theirs! I knew immediately it belonged to the two young guys -- it was their suits for the big New Years gala onboard that evening!

I rushed back to the port just in time to see the Getaway easing down the channel. Big party, nothing to wear.

When they returned a week later, they called me and I returned their suits.

We used Uber from Universal to Port Canaveral. Beware the surge pricing on weekday afternoons as it gets near rush hour. After the cruise we rented a car for the day to visit Cape Canaveral and then back to the airport.

Another vote for Tony Hinds!

When we used Cocoa Beach Shuttle it was in conjunction with a stay at the Radisson At The Port. They offer a Fly, Ride, and Stay package, if you don't want to rent a car for the time you are on the cruise. It includes the room and 2 ow's on their shuttle, if you have anyone else it says to call the hotel to arrange it. They use Cocoa Beach Shuttle and will arrange the ride back to MCO after your cruise, according to the hotels website it's $33 for one back to the airport, $50 for 2, and if you have anybody else it's an additional $10pp. They offer a shuttle from the hotel to the port for $6pp. Once you walked out of the cruise terminal they are easy to find.

Just wanted to make sure you know that it's about an hour to drive out to Canaveral, and using a driver service for that long does tend to cost a decent amount.

That sounds like a good deal, too. I am sure those two hotels have to stay comparable to one another in terms of service and price due to their close proximity to one another. I have found staying at the Country Inn and Suites to be very comfortable and accommodating for the 3 cruises I have taken when staying there, and I am sure the Radisson is comparable in terms of their services.

Yeah I get that but he quoted me $300 and for two people that is more than the rental car is costing me if I just keep it for the whole trip so for me it doesn’t make sense but for more people it makes a lot of sense
