Hi everyone,

Really enjoying my planning for our upcoming trip. We are coming from Australia & this will be our first trip to Disney World

We have booked the 6.15 Hoop Dee Doo dinner show & just wanted opinions on transport. From what I have read we can get a boat from Magic Kingdom. Where is this boat located & what time do you suggest boarding to make it in time for 6.15 seating? How long does the show go for & what do you think will be the best way to get to Port Orleans French Quarter afterwards? This will be our 7th day in a row of theme park morning till night so I would like to get back to bed in the quickest time possible. Family of 4 kids aged 12 & 10.

Thanking you in advance

1. The boat is right in front of MK and drops off very close to HDDR. If it is storming take the bus from MK and the internal bus at FW.
2. Boat ride is about 15-20 minutes depending on stops. I'd get in line by 5ish. Doors to HDDR open and you won't want to be late. Plus the if you just miss a boat you could be waiting a bit.
3. Getting back to your resort I'd go with a Lyft. Or bus or boat back to MK and transfer to the resort bus. Lyft is much, much faster and fairly cheap.

I second the Lyft/Uber back for the quickest way. You will need to take an internal bus from the Settlement to The Outpost to get the Lyft/Uber and those buses are just a couple min walk from the Hoop. But it still should be much quicker the taking the boat back to the MK, walking to the bus, and waiting/taking the POFQ bus.

Same question...but coming from AKV-Kidani for the late (8:30) seating....

Bus to MK, then boat to FW...when should we leave the resort? 6:45?

Or take Uber/Lyft to FW, then internal bus to Pioneer Hall....then what time should we leave the resort? 7:30?

I'm mostly familiar with how long Disney transportation can take when going from resort to resort but what I am not familiar with AT ALL, is how the internal transportation works once we get to Ft. Wilderness, whether it be via Uber/Lyft or boat.

I know that a Minnie Van will drop us off right by Pioneer Hall but that is by far the most expensive option and I'd rather avoid it if I can.

There used to be buses after the late 2 shows that took guests back to their hotels (multiple hotels on one bus). Don't know if they still do that.

I would recommend a taxi from the Fort to Port Orleans - it's really close, probably take 5 minutes once you leave the parking lot.

I would probably Lyft/Uber it. I would probably aim for leaving between 7p and 715p at the latest just to be safe in case you have to wait for an Uber/Lyft and then have to wait for an internal bus. If you get there too early you can always get a drink at Crockett's Tavern as they have a take out window on the deck, look through the Settlement Trading Post, or walk to the beach.

If you take Lyft/Uber you can take any of the internal buses (yellow, orange, or purple) from the Outpost as they all drop you at the Settlement. So no worrying about getting on the wrong bus. See map below. The Hoop is the #12 in the red circle near the Settlement Depot. We almost always stay at The Fort and get a golf cart, but the bus should take about 10 min from the Outpost to the Settlement if I remember correctly. It's a very quick walk from the Settlement bus stop to the Hoop.

If you take the boat from MK you do not have to deal withe the internal buses to get to the Hoop, it's a quick walk from the dock.

I am not sure how security is physically set up getting off the bus at the MK to get to the Fort Wilderness boat. Does anybody know if you have to go through security to access the FW boat?

That could add some time if they did it that way if you went that route to get there.

Just heard back from a friend who goes at least twice a year and is DVC and an AP that was there this weekend. He said if you take a bus to the MK you do have to go through security to get to the FW Boat, of course if you have no bags you just go through the detectors.

There used to be buses after the late 2 shows that took guests back to their hotels (multiple hotels on one bus). Don't know if they still do that.

He also said that there is a bus that takes you back to the MK where you can get another bus back to your resort
