We are staying at a moderate resort for 8 days
Food & Wine Festival in EPCOT - November

How much cash do you bring ?

We have a Disney Visa credit card
We have a Chase Bank checking account with a Debit card (no fees at ATM's in WDW)

But how much cash do we need ?
We will opt out of house keeping.

Thank you

$5k for 8 nights/9 days , but we usually only end up spending between 3 and 4. All of it is spent on food and drink and tipping as we don’t buy souvenirs. I know I will get flamed for this but we don’t charge anything. That’s just the way we roll.
If we WERE charging everything, we’d probably bring around $500 for tips and incidentals.

We really don’t use cash at all. We aren’t on the DP but buy gift cards ahead of time with our Disney Visa card to pay for meals including tips which usually for 3 of us is about $2,000 since we do almost all TS due to allergies or use credit cards. I don’t know what payment the booths allow. We take a little cash for housekeeping tips or to pay for snacks at the airport.

We bring probably $100 for housekeeping and bell service tips. We put everything else on credit cards.

If you have a debit card, Disney hotels have ATM's which are very convenient. Then you only need to bring whatever you normally carry in cash with you. Far safer to use the ATM then trying to lock it in a room safe or worry about having it stolen.

$100-$200 for tips and in the event that electronic payments aren't accepted/ working for a small purchase

About $100 in $5 and $10 bills. I use my debit card for most everything. If I need more cash I go through Chase for my checking and the ATMs are fee free in Disney.

I *try* to save up about $700 for the week, which roughly works out to about about $100 per day in fun money, which means souvenirs and stuff. I pay cash because the credit/debit card associated with my bank account does not have my name on it so I can't use it. I don't think I would anyway, because carrying cash means that when it's gone, it's gone and I won't be tempted to charge more than I can afford.

We always have the dining plan because we're big eaters and big table service people so even if it's not free it pays for us. The $700 doesn't include tips. My sister and I save our change for the year before the trip, which is usually enough when we cash it in to pay housekeeping and server's tips. If we're opting into housekeeping we put $5 into an envelope a day, and $10-$15 on the last day for the housekeepers who have to turn the room over for the next guests.

we bring about $200 for odds and ends largely off property (if we do a drive through or grab some sundries) but for tips i use exclusively $2 bills. my credit union carries them, people seem to get very excited to be given them (many offers to buy whatever we have in our possession) and they take up less space in our wallets than 1's. other than that we've got no fee debit cards if we needed cash and take a couple of different credit cards (in case there's a hiccup with one-an issue we had with disney once in the past, entirely their fault but a royal pain to deal with).

Three of us for 7 days I get $500 (20-$5, 20-$10, 10-$20) my husband typically keeps a few Bens stashed in his wallet. We use debit, credit or MB for most things. Typically that’s for tips and grabbing quick snacks. We split the cash between us and we always have plenty left when we return. I just hate being stuck without the appropriate amount to tip, ME driver, Bell hops, Lyft drivers and MK.

$1,000 for two adults for a week at WDW. (About $750 of it in Travelers Checks)
I'm funny about vacations. I want them paid off when I get back, not a credit card bill waiting on me.
Other reason, I only have one credit card, and I only use my Debit card to get cash at the bank. Just don't want either being compromised while I am on vacation.

Cash - just maybe $50. We’re DVC so only need maid tip at the end of the trip...and we don’t use Bell Svcs. I charge everything within the world on my MB - then use my Disney GCs to pay off the room charges the day before check out at the desk. GCs I get with my Target Red Card for 5% off-gotta save where I can.

I used to make sure i had $25/day in cash for 1 adult, 2 children. Rarely used it. Used be the mobile carts couldn't take credit. Now I probably take $50 in cash total and still come home with most of it.
