Our HS day is on a Sunday at the end of April. The park opened at 9am with emh starting at 8am. I’m guessing the BGs will become available at 9am to give non Disney resort guests a fair chance.

Any thoughts on that?

Also, I’ll be using the tips I’ve learned here to get a BG as soon as they become available.

Do you think it’s safe to get FPs for 9, 10 and 11am and book sci fi lunch at 11:30am? Or is that too risky - booking too much when we may get called for our BG?

Thoughts?
Def. keep checking times, EMH might get moved to evening again

I think it’s very likely that HS will open at 7 AM in April, if crowds continue like they are but who really knows? It has opened at 7 AM all through January, and that’s typically a “slow” period- and also a brand new highly anticipated ride is opening in March. I would be really shocked if it opened as late as 9 AM- I can’t remember the last time it opened at 9.

But you have two hours to show up for your boarding group, and once you tap in to one FP, you can easily move up the others in most cases. You should be ok.

We have been reading and studying this board since ROTR went live. Had a sinking thought yesterday when Disney added MFSR to the Fastpass tier one selections. My thought was this: what if all this prepping (reading, studying, worrying) leads to nothing if they offer FP+ for ROTR and discard the BG's altogether when my family gets there!!! ARRGH! Looking for comfort here....anyone?

I firmly believe that won’t happen for a good long while.

So did they stop boarding people for today because they went thru all the boarding groups?

So 142 groups x 100 people (assumed) per group = 14,200 riders divides by 12 hours = 1,150 hourly capacity.

What is the theoretical hourly capacity? If these assumptions are correct, can we tell how well the ride is doing based on the estimated hourly capacity?

I believe the estimated capacity at full run is 1700 to 1800 per hour

So 1,150 divided by 1,800 is 63%. Which seems to make sense of they're not running the ride at full capacity

They are putting through about 1200-1400/hr right now. The last group of the day was called around 5:30 today and the return time ended by 7:30 for that group.
Edit: the ride was also down for almost an hour this morning
