We should change the thread title to ABD 2025!

Just for pure speculation...since a new DCL ship will be out in late 2025 and based in Singapore (the Adventure)...maybe there will be ABDs out that way, such as a Singapore Escape, or Bangkok Escape, or a longer Indonesia ABD. Seems possible...maybe we'll know in May, or maybe ABD will wait on...

We got it, looked only with curiosity-- but it did get us thinking about ABD trips, and speculating about possible India connections/ABD trips there. Marketing helps in many different ways!

I mentioned a Xmas Germany trip-- no bike ride or other activities, which we didn't expect given the time of year (and snowfall!). I think that was the only time they did a Germany Xmas trip given the difficulty.

With ABD, we did two Christmas trips--for London and Paris (2009) we spent Christmas day in Disneyland Paris (VIP tour and dinner at Walts), and in Germany (2009 I believe) nothing was open but the guides got us into a Munich circus that traditionally opened on Christmas Day. We have started renting a car one way from San Diego to LAX-- so much easier than taking the bus or train (but there is the LA traffic to contend with!).

I think it is great that you do that -- and I like the mix of travel I do (many years), doing ABD, Tauck and others. I don't find it sad leaving something not done or wanting to travel with groups. Everyone has their preferences. Of course, this particular discussion board is all about group...

I liked the often clever daily pin event--it highlighted the theme of the day. But I stopped putting them on the lanyard as they would pop off, and there was a hassle lugging them around (with the kids in tow, I had 4 sets to haul). So I guess I'm firmly on the fence about this!

We are watching and waiting for the itineraries for the recrafted Treasure ship (number 7 for DCL) to see what their Asian ports will be. Viking Cruise has a new one (i think-- or at least new to me!) from Shanghai to Hong Kong-- so maybe pre and post nights in the Disney parks is a possibility...

The Victoria Falls Hotel was very nice-- we didn't see any renovation work. If you go be sure to do the Afternoon Tea. The restaurant food was excellent-- the breakfast buffet area had a great view of the mist rising from the Falls, and the bridge. I don't recall any paths to the falls-- seems...

We landed on late May to early June to see Victoria Falls at their best, and to catch if possible the Great Migration. We had a day of rain in Cape Town (the start of the trip, May) but that was it-- pleasant weather otherwise!

Also -- these were our 6th and 7th Tauck trips, and we have done 13 ABDs over the years. We like both companies.

We did back to back Tauck trips in May to June of this year-- South Africa (with Victoria Falls-- a must see for us) and Tanzania (with Great Migration and Zanzibar). Excellent trips.

Sounds great!! But....once I read 50 miles a day, I stopped! 😄
