2021 Rhine River Cruise Meets Thread

We are scheduled for the 9/30 Food & Wine cruise (hello wishiwasindisneyjen). For now we are just watching and hoping it will go. I'm hoping this summer brings big advances on the Covid front. If excursions change or are cancelled we will re-think things. We have done several ABDs, but this...

    ABD Ireland Questions

We did the ABD Ireland in 2017. You will have a great time, we loved it and want to go back to Ireland! I briefly looked at the current itinerary and it has changed a bit. Upon arrival at the Westin in Dublin, we were given tickets to go to Trinity College (just down the street) to view the...

    Best Places for Adult Beverages?

My top choices for cocktails: Nomad Lounge in the Animal Kingdom, AbracadaBar at the Boardwalk, and the Edison bar in Disney Springs. ( I'd also throw in Trader Sam's if you like tiki bars) Cheers!

    Rhine River Cruise question

We are booked on an October 2021 Food & Wine Rhine river cruise. For those who have done a river cruise with ABD, are the excursions often booked up? I read where you reserve a spot on your first day for each day's excursions. Has anyone been left out of an excursion? Should we be early on...

    Considering River Cruise Summer 21-Recommendations

We're thinking about the Rhine river cruise as well. For those who have been, is a port or starboard side cabin preferable? Would begin in Basel, ending in Amsterdam.

    Victoria's and Albert's Honeymoon tips!

We've dined in the main room a few times, and the Queen Victoria room our last time. Both are excellent, the Queen Victoria room only has 4 tables and is more intimate, but is open to the regular room by a large doorway. One con of that room is that the harpist is out in the main room and we...

    Declining Service in MDR?

Just off the Wonder this a.m. in New Orleans. I, too, noticed the servers seemed to be... rushed? overworked? too much on their plates? (pun intended). Maybe, as a previous poster said, their duties have been changed. Maybe more tables to cover? I don't know. At any rate, our servers were...

WDW restaurants that are no more

Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge. It has been several years since we ate there. The two meals we had there were excellent, with elegant surroundings. I've heard more recent reviews were mixed, but sad to see it go. We're going to stay at Copper Creek in a couple of months, so we'll see. The...

    Food and Wine crowds

We were there 2 weekends ago. We strolled around Epcot on Sunday and Monday afternoons and the crowds were very manageable. Never had more than 10 people in line, many kiosks with no wait at all. We went to PFTS on Saturday so I can't speak for the crowds on Friday or Saturday.

Those who stayed in both Concierge categories on Fantasy/Dream (1-Bedroom 00T & Family Oceanview 00V)

I agree with the above posts. We have stayed in both several times. We often travel by ourselves and the 1-bedroom is a luxury, but the V is just fine, especially if the price is right. Don't worry about moving "down" to a V. (Although we do love that in-room dining!)

    A few Ireland questions

We did the Ireland ABD almost 2 years ago. You are going to love Ireland and this tour! Regarding Blarney Castle, my personal opinion is to not worry about it one bit. If you are going to add days, I'd visit Northern Ireland or Cork before I'd go to Blarney. Blarney Castle is kind of like...

    Ireland Hotels & Ireland Reviews

Went on the Irleand ABD ~ 2 years ago. We went late May, early June. The first two hotels (Westin Dublin and Killarney Park Hotel) had A/C. Our room at Dromoland did not. We kept our windows open and the fan going our entire stay, but were quite comfortable. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Trader Sam's on a weekend

Best to get to Trader Sam's early, around opening time if possible and get your name on the list. Then go up to Tambu lounge and hang out or wonder around, shop, etc at the Polynesian until you are called. I would take the monorail to MK bus depot when you are done and take the bus to...

    Thoughts on Flying Fish Cafe

Went to Flying Fish last weekend. Our first time there and our first time staying at Boardwalk. We had reservations for dinner in Epcot, but were too cold, wet, and tired to get back out in it (rained all day long), so we booked Flying Fish. So glad we did! A beautiful and elegant space...

Wonder from New Orleans in 2020?

Love NOLA, an awesome city. Great food!!. We're booking this week. We're 4 1/2 hours away so very convenient. We haven't been on the Wonder in years. Can anyone give us their opinion or advice for the updated Wonder? Trying to decide on Verandah vs Concierge Verandah. We have traveled...

    Things learned from rope dropping

We'll be in WDW this weekend. Planning to rope drop DHS to hit Slinky Dog Dash. Its an extra-magic hour morning, 8:00 a.m. What time would you recommend arriving at the gate? Do they let you on in like AK or do you line up at the turnstiles?

is it worth $700 to move from concierge family room to 1 bed suite?

Absolutely without hesitation. We have stayed several times in both the family room and the one bedroom suite. The suite is over the top beautiful. So much room, a double balcony, and the bathroom... We also enjoy eating from one of the MDRs in our room on one evening - pure luxury. You'll...

3 night cruise - worth it or just too short?

Just off the Dream and a 3 nighter. This is our second 3 night cruise, we have taken a few 7's, 5's, and 4's. As you already know the ships, restaurants, activities, etc, a 3 night cruise is a relaxing weekend getaway. The price is right, and allows us to upgrade a bit. Some people, (like...

    Where can you purchase TIW?

We will be coming to Disney next week, then again this summer, and probably in the fall for Food & Wine. The math shows that a TIW card would provide quite a bit of savings. We will be arriving late at night next week into the Poly, having breakfast at Kona Cafe before entering the parks. Any...

Palo or Remy - is it a must?

As has been repeated often here, it all depends on your tastes and what you feel is important in dining. If you are a foodie and enjoy fine wines and gourmet food, then either Palo or especially Remy is an absolute must. Remy is comparable to a 3 star Michelin restaurant, a meal you won't soon...
