    Advice for a panicking newbie

Bit of advice, STOP panicking. Universal with Express Pass is the antithesis of WDW (even with Fastpass+). You will be able to ride everything but Hagrid's (the other couple of rides not included with Express Pass are likely not of interest to those in your groups age brackets) with Express...

Persuading my family to TRY Universal just for 1 Night!

Universal parks are now our (wife and I) go to parks for vacations, with Disneyland our now preferred Disney destination. We've all but abandoned WDW as it's just waaaaay to much work. Once they get a taste for the more freewheeling nature (especially with Unlimited Express) of a Universal...

UOR newbie... so many questions - HELP

On the subject of Express Pass. When you add up the cost it is usually CHEAPER to get a room at Royal Pacific (even if you don't stay) as it gives you the Unlimited Express pass for the day of arrival and the day you check out. Also (if you do stay) it's a short walk or boat ride to the parks.

Other attractions besides the Major Parks?

Not sure how the temps would be in February, but swimming with Manatees at Crystal River is amazing!! We booked one of the smaller charters (6 people max) and it was nice staying away from the larger groups.

Hagrid's Coaster Queue Updates / Questions / Reviews

I think the rush to have the latest and greatest attractions will be an ongoing issue. Theme park developers are in a no win situation. Look at Galaxies Edge for example. Is it popular? Yes. Is it the runaway train success that everyone thought it would be? Not yet. IMO, the main reason...

1st Trip To Disneyland in 2020

Stayed at Paradise Pier once, and while it was nice enough, none of the onsite Hotels (IMO) are worth the extra cost. It's not like WDW where there is an obvious benefit (the "bubble" and transportation). I prefer to save the money on accommodations so we can do more in the parks/area. We...

    Priority seat & AAP

    1. Yes and No. Some places do and some don't. It's best to call the desired restaurant and ask. Details here. 2. If you already have Unlimited Express Pass, the AAP pass is redundant. More details for that here.

How does this Article Read to You as a 1 day US/Islands of America Trip?

Not quite accurate. As low as $69 for the lowest tier (which allows you to skip the lines ONCE per attraction).

What One Attraction You'd Bring Back?

I'd have them bring back a newer version of Jaws, but Jurassic Park/Pirates of the Caribbean boat style. Where you're on the Orca and being stalked by good 'ol Bruce the shark!

    Mannheim Steamroller

I know Manheim has a couple of touring groups, but do they have more than that?? The dates posted above don't jibe with their posted tour schedule, as they have concerts scheduled in other states on all of those dates.

What One Attraction You'd Bring Back?

Bring back "as was" or bring back with modern tech?

    Express pass

I would look at the cost of adding express pass + your current room cost and see if it's worth moving into one of the 3 Deluxe resorts that come with express. If you stay at a deluxe you get Unlimited Express pass for the day you check in and check out for each person in the room.

    Express pass options?

Express pass pricing is dynamic (in that it can change depending on the crowds/demand). So I would look at the cost of 3 express passes for 2 days, then compare that to one night at one of the 3 deluxe resorts that offer Express as a perk for staying. Remember, one night gets you TWO days of...

    7 days at Universal

I'll second Discovery Cove (surprised it's only gotten one mention). We tend to do Universal trips over 5 days. We try to include Discovery Cove as it's a wonderful way to spend one of those days (all you can drink and eat in a secluded oasis!). We could spend all day in the Aviary. Once we...

    Fourth Gate Coming?

Think Avatar (and yes I know it made all kinds of $$$) and how Disney leveraged that into a major/popular "mini" land. Even with the money it made, no one I know was clamoring for anything having to do with Avatar in the years following it's original release. It came and went from the public...

Which Universal Studios is the best?

Depends on what your looking for. I've only been to Orlando and Hollywood. As a theme park, Orlando is better. But, if your really into movies/how they are made etc. Hollywood is better (especially if you do the VIP tour).

Anyone dissappointed in star wars land

I'm assuming you've been to both? I'm not a huge Potter fan, but the attention to detail and how the two park areas are bridged is absolutely amazing. And the ride tech for Forbidden Journey is still quite impressive. I've been there 4 times and find new details each visit. We are really...

Didn't expect to love Universal/Islands of Adventure so much!

We made the "switch" years ago after being disappointed with how FP+ fundamentally changed how we like to enjoy WDW. Now we alternate between UOR and DLR (we still need our Disney fix, and the experience at DLR is so much better for how we like to tour theme parks). If your a Halloween fan...

    WDW and DL.... your thoughts!

Wife and I were big WDW fans until they instituted FP+. We tried it, and it doesn't suit how we liked to enjoy the parks. We switched to DLR after that year and loved it!! Went back to WDW the following year to see if FP+ worked any better for us and it didn't. So, it's been DLR (and...
