    Coastal Campgrounds?

Camp Gulf is a pretty place to stay. Just keep in mind that if you have pets, you can't stay on the gulf front sites. Our county doesn't allow pets on the beach. There are also several state parks that are in beach areas. Another nice place we like to stay is Presnell's in Port St. Joe...

    Spring 2021 Campsite Discount

It's still possible to get the days w/the discount. But, unfortunately it eats up any spare time you may have. We have 10 days booked in April (Premium). I couldn't apply the discount to the entire reservation, on the day the discount was announced. But, I am in the process of rebooking our...

    Fort discounts cabin & campsite

Yes, and if you cannot find the specific days you need, expand your search. I've had to book a full month, on one reservation, just to get my dates. Then I call in to have the dates fixed. Their reservation system is a hot mess, lol! I've also had to book a couple shorter stays just to get...

I hope this is good news, too! Still dreaming of new loops for the Fort!

Anyone staying at the fort before the parks open?

We are checking in on the 9th, just a couple days before the parks open. We were there in March when the 'Rona closed it all down. I booked all of June and a 2nd reservation for all of July, just hoping we'd get some days in. June was auto-cancelled on us and I modified the July one for the...

    New neighbor construction update w/photos

My dream will come true, if this pans out! This is what I've been hoping for since they announced the closures. I would be so down for more loops! Especially a waterfront set of loops. It would be awesome if they made a few pull-in waterfront ones!

    March Trip Reports

Hey @ruthies12 , that sounds fun! I believe that the crowds in March will be much better than April. We went last year for Spring Break (March) and I didn't think the crowds were too bad! Definitely better than at Thanksgiving. My DD turned 13 last week, so we are counting it as her Birthday...

    March Trip Reports

We will be there March 13-22 for the kids Spring Break. Looking forward to getting away for the week. DH and I hope to Resort Hop some. We always say we're going to but never do. DD is bringing her best friend, so we are plus one. It's nice for her to have a friend to go to the pool with...

    New neighbor construction update w/photos

We had a FW CM tell us that they were basically going to pick up HDD and rotate it towards Reflections. I kind of laughed it off at the time, but you never know what they're going to do! Again, it wasn't from a bus driver, so I took it with a big grain of salt! LOL!

    Daytona

We were amazed too, that he survived--and that his injuries weren't critical. I agree that not racing those tracks will ever happen. We went to Talladega last fall, for the first time, & are looking forward to going back this year.

    Resort Hopping from the Fort

Just keep in mind that if you don't have ADRs, you may not be allowed to park at the various resorts.

    RV camping with 8

Pretty sure the internal buses run from an hour before park opening until a couple of hours past closing. If you find that the buses between the parks are pretty packed, what I would do since you're in a Preferred spot, is take the internal bus to the front in the morning and return by...

    RV camping with 8

You could always take the internal bus up to the front to catch the buses to the other parks. There is an internal bus stop at/near the entrance of every loop. Or, one group could take the golf cart and the other ride the internal bus up front. The walking/bike paths generally follow the road.

Anybody know how much the toll booths are?

We do the same... We have the permanent sticker transponder in our vehicles and the suction cup mounted one in the MoHo. We can't tow either of our vehicles and use the portable one for the rental cars.

    Beach Stay on the Way...

Keep in mind that if you decide to stay at Camp Gulf, on a beach front site, no pets are allowed and there's no sewer hookups. Pets aren't allowed on any beaches here in Okaloosa county. They do allow pets & have sewer hookups on all of the other sites. We are local and have stayed at CG...

If you want Gulf front, check out Camp Gulf in Destin. There's also Emerald Coast RV Resort on the Bay side, with Gulf access.

Hotels on way to Fort that accommodate camper parking

That's the way we go most of the time. It ends up being about 30 mins longer but less 'white knuckle driving'. We live up in the FL panhandle area and drive I-10 to 19, etc. We don't feel like we have to fight with the Semis and crazy drivers as much, lol! Plus, there's usually an accident...

    Bike Questions

You need to have lights (front & rear) if you'll be riding them after dark. Also, anyone 16 or under is required by FL Law to wear a helmet. We have a cover for ours, to keep them from getting too wet.
