I'm not sure if there was an increase in February, but there definitely was one in October. I renewed my Sorcerer's Pass for $876.50 before the increase and my wife's for $904.19 after the increase. Of course renewing is a little cheaper than buying one new. I hope this helps.
You condition is exactly what the DAS system was created for. It is for people who can't wait for extended periods of time in a traditional line.

Can I still use the free parking associated with my Sorcerer's Pass at a park during block out dates? I would like to park at HS and then walk over to the Boardwalk area.
Do I still have to call member services to renew my Sorceror’s Pass with the DVC discount or can I just click “Renew Pass” in the MDE app?

Generally, event day crowds tend to be lower because people don't want to waste money buying a park ticket for only part of a day. But this is not set in stone.
Your options are Sunshine Flyer bus service, Mears Connect bus service, Uber, Lyft, Towncar, or rental car. I've used Sunshine Flyer a couples of times without issue. You can go to their website and book a round trip reservations.
Given all of the recent layoff announcements at Amazon, Twitter, and Google, this doesn't seem to be a Disney only phenomenon. They're doing what all big companies do when there's talk of a recession.
I've been there over 50 times since 2006, so that averages out to about 3 trips per year. And when I retire in 2 years I'm going to move as close to WDW as I can (I'm already eyeing up communities close to the parks). I never feel the need to explain myself for all of the reasons given...
