11 Year Old Christmas Gifts (or any Tweens really)

Oh I totally get that! After having so many things canceled it's really hard to plan again. After 18 months of this though we are all itching to go DO things. Some things are easier to plan than others. We are taking a giant leap of faith with theatre tickets but giving DD gift cards to her...

11 Year Old Christmas Gifts (or any Tweens really)

DD is also 10 turning 11 very soon. Her list is really short. Houston Astro's stuff (she collects bobbleheads and wants a jersey) and a phone. I also got her the mini Lego Disney Castle, a Switch game, a new tennis racket, and a few board games (Cards of Humanities for families and 5 second...

Realistically, when do think Disney will no longer require masks?

Yes the global issue is being overlooked in this conversation for sure. The US is going to end up with a huge supply of vaccine. I know Biden has a plan to give some to Mexico and Canada which will help but there is more pieces of this to unravel for sure.

Realistically, when do think Disney will no longer require masks?

I'm not sure. If enough adults get vaccinated and the transmission rates drop significantly we could see some easing by this summer. Kids won't be eligible to receive the vaccine until at least next fall though so who knows. We could see them in places like theme parks and ball parks and...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

The pool situation is a really bad look. It looks like Disney was caught by surprise which, how? They know how many rooms they have booked. I do agree that with the distancing requirements that getting in everyone is tough. There has to be a better system than waiting 2 or 3 hours though...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

Absolutely. Our Spring Break is this week and while we are staying put very few people I know are. I think seeing pools at capacity is an indicator that more are traveling.

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

Exactly. When we went over Thanksgiving the GF was very quiet. We could swim every afternoon no problem, we saw very few people in our building, and we even had the monorail all to ourselves more than once. It was kind of eerie how quiet it was. Sounds like people are getting more...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

Whoa waits for the pool?! We did not encounter that in November at all. Yikes. I am guessing Spring Break is seeing much bigger resorts crowds than the holidays did. We are going back in June. I sure hope some of the distancing requirements are lifted before then because the resort is our...

    News Round Up 2021

I have to admit I don't quite understand what Disney is doing. Or why. I have always been a Disney apologist that can see things from their POV but I don't on the new rides. There is no reason they can't continue to work on the rides and have them ready to go once capacity can increase...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

I know it. Which is why I understand what they are doing. All the plexiglass definitely takes away from the experience though and doesn't make anything any safer.

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

All the plexiglass is just making me sad. I get it. I know Disney is trying to minimize the complaints about long waits but I still say they would be better off bringing back a show or two instead of plexifying every single ride. It's not cute and after the first hour or so of the day there...

    News Round Up 2020

Ugh. I hope some of this plexiglass will eventually be removed. I didn't mind it on Mickey and Minnie at all or Rise. I feel like on Millenium Falcon it will really take away from the experience though. If they are looking to reduce wait times perhaps add in a show.

    News Round Up 2020

Once the pandemic ends I cannot wait to go do all the things. Even things I previously didn't really love doing...like seeing a movie in a theatre! It's really the only way I will see a movie. Otherwise I think of all the things I should be doing and get distracted.

Another Christmas Thread - What Do Your Tweens want/What Are You Getting Them?

I ended up getting my 10 year old a Mickey Mouse lounge fly bag and a lap desk from PB Teen to round out her Christmas. I think I’m really done now! Thanks for the ideas here.

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

Me last week: Our Thanksgiving trip was really fun but I don't think I will go back until the pandemic is over. Me yesterday: Real life is boring. I miss Disney. Me today: The Contemporary for Spring Break is a great deal... What is wrong with me? Ha.

Excuse me. This hurts my child of the 80's soul. This year has been hard enough. There is no reason for saying such rude things....;)

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

I’m not the person you quoted, but I think they did what we did - picked the QS and time we wanted and submitted our order right after we entered the park. That way we had our choice of times and just had to click Prepare My Order when the time came. By the time we got to the QS we had a very...

Cruise and Theme Park Operational Updates due to Coronavirus

@MrsBooch we just got back and must have been there the same 8 days! I agree with most of your assessments. It was really an amazing trip. We had the most fun we've had in ages. I loved not having FP's to hunt down. It really helped me turn off the real world and just enjoy being in Disney...
