How to share electric chair - I am disabled mom and mild disabled son

They will not allow you both to ride, there is no way around that. There are people who hire themselves out as companions or nannies for disney, that could help with p7shing a wheelchair or stroller for your son.

    Lone parent trip

I would switch to a monorail resort if you can. Fq is lovely, but the convenience of a monorail resort at the end of a long and overstimulating day just can't be beat. Getting the stroller as wheelchair tag is really easy, you just go to guest services and explain why you need it, it's really...

anyone have 3 people in their party with DAS pass?

It's doable, but it can be a pain to juggle to make sure each person is only attached to one return time at a time, and if there are rides that everybody wants to ride together it can be a bit of a hassle to coordinate. But very possible, youll just spend a bit more time on your phone in the...

    MK Bus wheelchair/ECV at closing

When we went we stayed at all stars, so obviously sharing buses and we were not yhe first stop. Most of the time there wasn't any room for my daughters wheelchair and we had to wait for another bus or even 2 more busses. They never once offerred to call another bus for us , I didn't know that...

    Confused about DAS/ Genie/ LL

We had both Das and genie + when we went, but honestly did not use genie very much. Almost everything we wanted to use genie for, by 10am we'd go to book it and the return times it gave us were for 6pm or later. My kids dont last that long in the parks, so it was mostly useless. But we were able...

    question about re-registration for DAS

Some CMs ask a few questions, some ask a lot, some don't ask any. It's different for us every time. Be prepared to discuss things just in case

Going to Disney World with flat feet-- suggestions?

Disney is so much more intense than anything else we do in or daily lives. There are a lot of people who aren't disabled, but can't get through disney without some extra help. It is completely appropriate for him to use a scooter at Disney world. No reason he should be suffering in pain when...

    is disney autism friendly ........?

    1. disney is incredibly overstimulating for a lot of people. so much to see and do, so much noise, so many crowds. a lot of people with autism find it overwhelming, although there are also a lot who greatly enjoy it. 2. no sensory rooms but you might be able to head to first aid for a quiet...

Larger stroller or some other option?

If I place both my convaids side by side they fit the size guidelines, but I'm not sure how much extra space the tandem connector adds, you are likely correct they will be too big connected together. And I don't think I would be able to maneuver them through the lines connected. I also suspect...

Larger stroller or some other option?

One thing I haven't tried yet is to get the tandem stroller kits that allow you to connect two strollers together to make it a double stroller. I'm going to try buying a kit and seeing if I can connect two adaptive strollers together. But I have no idea if they will work for the bigger strollers

Larger stroller or some other option?

They are banned in disney. Also, we tried using one with our adaptive stroller and no matter where I attached it, it kept tipping backwards far enough to dump the standing child off. Not sure if you would have the same problem with a regular stroller, maybe it just wasn't compatible with our...

Larger stroller or some other option?

When my daughters were 2 and 8 I tried an extra wide adult wheelchair. Didn't work, they were too squished. Definitely wouldn't work for a 9 and 7 year old

Larger stroller or some other option?

There really isn't anything that will fit two kids once they outgrow the city minis and double bobs. Some people will use stroller wagons but they are banned at Disney and very few medical exceptions are made. They don't look particularly comfortable for big kids anyways, but that's just my...

    DAS ride selections

The advanced Das selections some of the headliner rides are restricted, and some of the other rides the advance spots fill up. But you probably won't have a problem with the buzz ride in mk or tsm. We were unable to get an advanced selection for slinky dog. But the Das selections you schedule...

Are they getting overly strict on DAS

Disney has no clue what the icd codes mean and they are not allowed to look at medical assessments, ieps, etc. They aren't supposed to care about the diagnosis at all. You only need to tell them how those things affect your ability to wait in line. Absolutely go into more detail about that.

    Change in DAS at Disneyland

My youngest has both bathroom issues and anxiety. Her Bathroom issues can be solved by leaving the line and coming back, but once that anxiety kicks in, she's done with the park for hours, possibly for the whole day. And it's the line itself that triggers the anxiety. She enters the line...

    Change in DAS at Disneyland

It's supposed to work that way but after you scanned into the line and are at the loading area, no one knows if it's a Das or not

    New to DAS

Das allows you to wait outside the line for the estimated length of the standby line. When you're time is up you come back and enter through the lightning lane. When you enter the line you have to scan in. Most people not using Das the scanner turns green, people using Das it turns blue. So if...

Universal now requiring documentation be sent to a third party for accessibility

Lol, my younger daughters main reasons for needing Das are bathroom issues, sensory needs, and anxiety, so she hits them all. But they are all very real problems that make the parks so difficult. Sometimes even with Das she can't manage to ride, because even the quick wait in the lightning lane...
