Congratulations on the POT and the weight loss! Love that medal, although as a daughter of an Extension Agent and long-time 4-Her, it made me think “To make the Best Better,” the 4-H motto.

Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

Not staying at SoG this time, but have stayed there for marathon weekend in the past. Some pros: Beautiful resort, lower price, larger rooms than most WDW rooms, nice restaurants, civilian prices on goods, and no taxes! Con: bus system- it’s on a schedule, and I always just missed it😀, you have...

Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend (Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2024)

DH and I got in 5k and challenge, but had the same problems with queue, shirts, and other glitches. He had to start from scratch for the challenge 3 times and the 5k twice. I had to go through 5k 3 times, but got through the challenge in one try. Congratulations to all who were successful. See...

Ollie is the best of both worlds. Officially he belongs to our neighbors. They feed him, vet him, and are responsible for him, but he stays at our house all day! So we get to pet him, play with him, and listen to him purr. Best thing is that when we go on our runcations, we don’t have to hire a...

    Marathon Weekend 2025

Favorite races that are not Disney include: Lake Hartwell Dam Run 10k - see previous post Peachtree Road Race 10k -a July 4th celebration Atlanta 10 Miler- a distance I like; in the past, a different organization adopted every mile and had different spectacles, music, costumes, and cheering. Not...

    Marathon Weekend 2025

Favorite non-runDisney races? It’s time to plug my local 5k/10k: the 46th annual Lake Hartwell Dam Run! It’s local, it’s fast, it’s beautiful, it crosses two states, and DH is race director. We usually have about 800+\- runners with the majority being 5k. It’s the 10k I’ll use for POT for Wine &...

February miles: 82.4 miles @garneska Hope that your mother gets settled in and feels good about her care, that your knee continues to heal so that you can run comfortably again, and life gets easier for you. @pluto377 Hope your son gets through his surgery successfully and with little pain...

Are you an Introvert or an Extrovert

Introvert. Horrible at small talk. Love this group because we have running in common so I have something to say. DH is an extrovert. He can talk to anybody about anything. I hang with him most of the time so I don’t have awkward pauses and lags in a conversation.

    Marathon Weekend 2025

Save Epcot for Monday. The Drinking Around the World group is so much fun and a terrific celebration. BTW I have fun and I drink water, strawberry lemonade, soft drinks, etc. Some prefer a margarita, beer, wine, etc., but either way it is great fun to celebrate with a bunch of friends from this...

    Marathon Weekend 2025

late SAFD: I’m in the “I don’t love running, but I love having run” camp. I’ll be 69 very soon—my last year as a sexagenarian 😂— and, honestly, running is tough! I’m slowing down and the miles seem to be getting longer. But I love running with my husband, the accomplishment of a completing a...

    Marathon Weekend 2025

🤣🤣🤣 Before I retired, years ago, my high school students used to ask me, “What do YOU do at Disney World?” My answer was always, “Ride Rick ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Expedition Everest, of course!” Now I’d add Guardians and Tron to the list! Jan. Miles...

POT (Proof of Time) Race Equivalency Cutoff Confirmed Times

They don’t always care to make people happy. E.g. I wasn’t happy when they suddenly decided to take away the early registration perk from DVC and AP folks after we bought APs. There was really no advance warning. And they have never officially said CrD would be in B, only that they would get a...

SAFD: I’m just now catching up with this thread, and many of you already know DH’s and my story. He has been running since basic training, and I met him shortly after that in college where he ran and I biked beside him! We married, had two boys, took my first trip to WDW to take the boys with...

    @SarahDisney Welcome back!
