    Cancun....who's been?

We went in 1998 lol, which sounds so, so, so long ago, for our honeymoon. Where did the last 21 years go! It seems like yesterday We stayed in a hotel along the part of cancun where all the hotels are along the beaches, can't remember the name of it but it was pretty typical of the nice hotels...

How often do you talk to your parents?

My mom calls when she wants to brag about something. She controls the conversation length by calling me from her car on her 5 minute drive home from work and ending the call when she pulls into her garage. At the end, she will stop talking, ask how we are all doing, I say good, and she says OK...

Where did you meet your Significant Other

At the park in our neighborhood - I was 13 and at the end of 8th grade, a month away from turning 14, and he was 15. It was Spring Break and we were visiting my mom who lived there (and where i was going to be moving for high school the next year). My sister and I went to the neighborhood park...

    Work From Home

I agree when it's one or two days here and there from home - when I used to work one day from home, I would do everything in my power to get as much as possible wrapped up by Tuesday night, and not schedule any meetings on Wednesdays so that I could have a light day of just checking emails and...

If you had to pick a time in the past

I would love to live in the 1950's for a while - for some reason that decade speaks to me. I would also love to go back to the early 2000's when my kids were little/being born. I have 2000, 2004, and 2006 babies and I LOVED the 4 years with DS19 before the other two were born, and I loved the...

    Last time you were "drunk"

DRUNK drunk - about 10 years ago at my sister's 25th birthday. It was the night before Easter and we all went out to a bar, then DH and I went back to MIL's house to do Easter early the next AM since the kids spent the night there. Not the most fun morning I've ever had lol Pretty fairly drunk...

Do You Dwell on the Past?

Most of my life, no. Recently, there have been some things that I've bee working out with DH, and things from our 29 year history has been brought up a lot. I'm usually one to let things go and move on, but analyzing the past has been a necessary part of our journey lately.

    Work From Home

i could be wrong, but I am almost positive that your experience is exactly what I am talking about. MOST jobs that allow working from home are either due to already-sanctioned company policy or negotiations during the hiring process. Exceptions being made on a case-by-case basis, of course...

    Work From Home

Referencing my posts: Quoting myself, notably the phrases in red: "Again, as I stated earlier, positions that allow WFH are almost always a perk of the company you work for, and not just the job itself. You have to get the job first, then work out the terms of your scheduling with you...

    Work From Home

My husband's boss makes about $200K and works from home whenever he wants to, as does DH. They are in finance for a nationally known service-based management company. Again, as I stated earlier, positions that allow WFH are almost always a perk of the company you work for, and not just the job...

    Work From Home

Mine came to me. Our division's office closed and we were told we could either be laid off, move to HQ out of state, or start working from home. We were able to secure a meeting room one day a week in another division's office, but work from home the other 4 days/week. Most companies that I...

    Work From Home

I'm an account/project manager for a large company. I work from home 4 days a week, meet with my team at a local divisional office about 45 min away once a week. Anything I need to do, or anyone I need to talk to or meet with, can be done via remote technology. We have various face-to-face...

    Tom Brady?

LOL he will retire some day, but barring sudden injury, I truly think he and the Patriots already have a plan to have a new QB in place to take over when the day comes. We will be in Cincinnati Dec 15th for the Bengals/Patriots game! Rooting for the Patriots though :cheer2: DS13 is a huge Pats...

Do You Have A Go-To Lunch?

lol me too, but I was eating it anyway My "go-to" lunch varies. If I'm working from home, it will usually be whatever I find in the fridge or pantry that sounds good. If I am in the office, it's usually shrimp tacos from this amazing little taco place, or a Caribbean Mango Chicken Salad from...

How far/out of the way have you gone for something free/discounted?

Sometimes not even 10 steps at Costco to get a free sample! There is probably zero chance I would actually drive somewhere and stand in line to get something free. I won't even go to the store on Black Friday for a specific item because I am not going to fight with hordes of people for a $4...

    Things that are sad .......

I was watching Dateline the other night and the 40 year old brother of the murder victim was crying through his parts of the interviews. You could just see the visible pain. It was so sad. I mentioned to DH that you can always tell when relatives are in real pain over their loved one's death...
