    Ikspiari Restaurants

On my last trip to Japan, hubs and I just picked up stuff from a conbini every single day- usually onigiri though sometimes I grabbed a nikuman. It's a super easy/quick/cheap way to get a quintessentially local breakfast ;) The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel has a conbini I think, and there's a NewDays...

    Ikspiari Restaurants

Ippudo is a big ramen chain in Japan- and definitely a super solid pick! You might, like me, find the idea of eating at an Australia-based Mexican restaurant in Japan entertaining and consider Guzman y Gomez. Don't. The food's super boring and a waste of good calories in Japan IMO, unless...

PSA: Japanese Airbnb laws are changing after June 15, 2018

The actual Disney park hotels are RIDICULOUS. The MiraCosta is actually inside Tokyo DisneySea and starts around $600 a night. It looks amazing, but I'd rather spend that extra $500 on merch or something. Maybe someday in the future I'll splurge... XD Yeah, the Hilton should do you just fine...

PSA: Japanese Airbnb laws are changing after June 15, 2018

True ryokan experiences are also suuuper expensive! I'm sure you'll be able to find kid-friendly accommodations though. Worst case scenario, there are a lot of American chains (Hilton, Sheraton, etc.) in Japan's major cities.

    Air BnB in Tokyo

Kyoto is beautiful-- you'll definitely have a lot of fun there. :) My next trip will be the first time I've gone to the Ghibli museum! I hope you enjoy it, I've heard it's awesome!

    Air BnB in Tokyo

<3 That's awesome! My first trip to Japan actually had a similar itinerary to yours. We did Osaka + Kyoto + Tokyo. They're all along the same shinkansen (bullet train) line, and foreigners can buy a special JR rail pass that'll save you a lot of money on the shinkansen fares between them. I was...

Is TDL or DS even worth it in late July?

Oh, random addendum to my note about showing up early / Friday morning crowds in July: I started at Sea. I don't know if one park is more popular than the other or anything. ^^

    Which land to start in?

I haven't stayed at the Hilton, but it sure looked nice from the train! I'm sure it'll be pretty nice. 2 days at each park sounds great! I only had one day to cram in both, but it was also just me-- no kids or hubs to worry about :) I do have one in-park recommendation: there's a Japanese...

    Air BnB in Tokyo

Superhosts are people who meet a bunch of requirements that indicate that they're exceptionally reliable hosts with solid BnBs. Details here, including an image of the symbol you'll see on their pictures that indicate that they're a Superhost. When you search can also filter to only see AirBnBs...

Is TDL or DS even worth it in late July?

I went in early July, but on a weekday (Friday) and it wasn't too bad. Show up at least 30 (better to do 60) minutes before the doors open and hit all your biggest priorities first! :)

    Which land to start in?

Aw man, that was closed when I was there too. Hope it's open when I go this fall! As far as land to start in, it depends on your focus. If you're trying to cram in as much as possible then the FP strats others laid out are probably way better than anything I could give you (I've only been...

    Air BnB in Tokyo

AirBnB is HUGE in Tokyo- hubs and I are staying in one on our trip in September (most likely). I haven't used it there (didn't exist first time I went, second was a business trip so had a hotel), but I have dozens of friends who have. It's legit and safe. There are a lot of superhosts, if you...

    Halloween Costuming at Tokyo DisneyLand/Sea

@ChanduTail, do you know when they normally post the details? It looks like last year's English press release came out in late June, but we're probably going to book sooner than that...if the Japanese version comes out earlier I might be able to peg that, even if I have to have a coworker...

    Disney Visa

I have it and it was well worth the value for our big Disney World trip a couple years ago. We don't use it as our day-to-day card (we have an Amazon Prime visa for that - 5% cash back, we buy stuff on Amazon ALL. THE. TIME.), but I use it for all my work expenses, so I'm slooooowly building up...

    Halloween Costuming at Tokyo DisneyLand/Sea

Hey all, DH and I are looking at doing a Tokyo trip this fall, and I realized that we'll probably overlap with the Halloween events at Tokyo Disney. I've written to their guest services but haven't gotten a response...does anyone know the current policy on costumes for Halloween? I've heard...
