Lack of crowds and Disney's response

I am a huge SW fan and just came back from GE last weekend. After the initial awe of the land, I am in the camp of Disney screwing up the experience. I realize that they wanted us to feel as if we are on Batuu, but without any SW music, it felt empty and lacking the nostalgia of the movies. The...

Yesterday's ATTQOTD: I run with both an Apple Watch and a Garmin 935. Yes, I can't stick with just one. Garmin has the training load/aerobic vs anaerobic levels/VO2 max and the GPS is just a bit more accurate than the Apple Watch. On the other hand, the Apple Watch has cellular so I can listen...

My next goal is to run the Portland marathon in October. It’ll be my 2nd attempt at that distance, and a chance to avenge my bonk-fest!

LA Marathon recap: Since I’ve gotten back into running just over a year ago, I’ve had the goal of running a marathon. I tried last year but I had some serious IT band issues that prevented me from running more than 2 miles. So I rested, the symptoms improved, and this winter, I looked into...

ATTQOTD: Ditch the music/podcast, but I always need my watch. @LSUlakes, can you please add me to the race list this weekend. Thanks! Mar 24- LA Marathon (goal #1- simply finish, goal #2- sub 4hr)

ATTQOTD: Ahhh, one of life’s greatest mysteries finally discussed! :teeth: Seriously though, I never knew what to do with those liners. That’s why I always buy shorts without liners because underwear, I understand.

ATTQOTD: I’ve never tried running in barefeet or Vibrams before. I understand the benefits but like @kbenson13 mentioned, I don’t think we’re born to run on pavement. Like so many others here, I’m amazed at people that run a race in things other than running shoes...high heels, dress shoes...

ATTQOTD: Bay Area to Brooklyn (Prospect Park loop) last week was the farthest distance at 2566 miles. BUT, like many people have already said, I think Hawaii running during sunrise has to be one of the most relaxing & beautiful vacation runs. SO, I’ll add Kona, HI at 2373 miles as a close 2nd.

I’ve been on vacation for the past week so I haven’t been able to check the board much so I’ve got a bunch of catching up to do. But first of all, I was scheduled to run the Heartbreaker HM in Hillsboro, OR last Sat, but I was a bit under the weather, it was super cold, and this HM was a...

YATTQOTD: I’ve always had a competitive nature, and that’s one reason why I enjoy sports so much. In my post-college years, I played tennis and basketball which satisfied that competitive streak. But as I’ve passed my 40s, basketball has caused way more aches and pains while tennis required so...

2nd this! I wear a Garmin + AW as well. AW for daily wear and music/podcasts during the run...then I add the Garmin on all my runs for pace/HR/intervals (like @Bree). I have the latest AW, but when I compare the distances post-workout, Garmin is always super close to the Strava distance while...

I cannot wait to read this recap. I'm fascinated with ultras so it'd be cool to hear your thoughts on it. @LSUlakes, can you please remove my goal for my 2/17 Heartbreaker HM. I had originally planned this race to be a fast one, but it's going to be snowing/raining and in the high 20s/low 30s...

ATTQOTD: I run in mostly asphalt and concrete as well, with a less than 5% dirt trail mixed in. @LSUlakes, I still remember my X-country coach from 25 years ago telling us to run on asphalt over concrete because it’s softer on the joints. I never truly verified it but it’s been stuck in my...

ATTQOTD: As a Rams fan, the game was terrible...it reminded me of the pitiful Rams teams from 3-4 years ago. I can’t stand the Pats and Edelman *cough* cheater *cough* either . Wow @Wendy98, that calendar is super impressive! I have trouble finding 25-30 miles a week in my schedule, but I also don’t have a treadmill or like going to the gym to run on one too. That’ll be a goal when my schedule gets more flexible. Jan was pretty rainy here in the Bay Area but I was...
