Trying to be supportive of friend's career change...

I do not regret what happened to me. And I don't know why I'm so against this. I really don't. I think part of it is moving to another state to go to school for something she can get 20 min away (and get in state tuition for too). I think that is what's bothering me. The only thing we don't have...

Trying to be supportive of friend's career change...

No I'm suggesting go back to her old job for the time being until she moves to Florida. For a few months she will have a salary position in addition to the restaurant job. Her health, eye, and dental insurance will be paid for (since she's paying for that OOP right now). I'm not saying go back...

Trying to be supportive of friend's career change...

No. I realized my mistake and fixed it. If she succeeds, great and good for her. But don't tell me I didn't "try hard enough".

Trying to be supportive of friend's career change...

My friend is making a huge mistake. I think. Maybe I'm just not supportive. What do you thin&? My friend left her job for a higher paying job about a year ago. This May, she was let go from Her new job. She now doesn't think her career choice is right and wants to start a new career in marine...

    What phrases drive you crazy?

"I want to follow up with..." I use this at my office all time (when I'm emailing outside agencies when the agencies don't give me what I want) and I hate it. Also, "jawn". It's a Philly term for "thing". It drives me INSANE. Another reasons I don't go to Philly at all because everyone says...

Is Poly really worth that much extra money?

Look at other things about the resort. For example, a big thing for us is transportation. Poly has the boat monorail in addition to the bus which allow you to travel around Disney World easier. You're also about a 6-8 min walk away fr om the transportation center so really you're ina great spot...

    HR question about Job Description

Yes. The girl in my unit had the same issue so she took a picture of our job description/salary and that was allowed by HR.

180 days out, already trouble getting Ohana

We're going the same time and had no issues with booking Ohana. In fact, I checked the app and there's plenty of times open...

Job seeking and need some input

Sometimes the best jobs have the lowest salary. I started at a local child/spousal support office and was making $43k. I hated it. I left that job and at the job I am now. I love it so much but I'm making half. I love my job so much that it's ok I'm making less money. sometimes more money...

Opportunity to go to London, England...

True. We could sell the tickets. London is offered every two years at my university so I could go in 2020... eh I don't have to enroll until mid October. I've got time to think about it!

Opportunity to go to London, England...

Ugh guys update. The London tour is May 10-18th. And I forgot I'm seeing Frozen on Broadway May 12th and I can't back out of this one. We already have tickets. Looks like London will have to wait until I further develop my thesis. :(

Opportunity to go to London, England...

Yes definitely a research project! I honestly was thinking about doing my thesis around the similarities here and London. The legal systems would be equally as interesting I think!

The Broadway show thread where we discuss all things Broadway

I loved the Broadhurst Theater. When you enter, you go up these massive and steep stairs. It reminds me of older times. New Amsterdam Theater is a close second. Here you use elevators to go up! More modern.

Opportunity to go to London, England...

I've never traveled over seas. In fact, the only place I really travel to is Disney. I take day trips to NYC, Baltimore, DC, NJ all the time so I don't consider them travel. Anyway... I was told to ask my advisor to see if I can get credit if I go to London. The class is for undergrads and I'm...

Have you ever been caught or caught someone littering?

I thought the title was shop lifting! To both littering and shop lifting: no, I don't do either. There's plenty of people who do those things though. And agreed with throwing stuff out the window. It's annoying and rude. Especially cigarettes. Gross things. I've seen a guy driving in front of...

What are your kids going to be for Halloween this year?

I don't have human kids but I have a puppy! And my puppy is going to be a ballerina! I need to find a tutu and some sequins. She'll look adorable !

Vacations during a natural disaster, who else has had one?

Not natural disasters but every vacation we plan results in having some type of bad weather. Every year we would go to Avalon, NJ and every year we had damaging thunder/lightening storms for two nights. Each Disney trip we've done results in blizzard conditions on departure day coming home...

Is anyone seeing frozen in denver/ broadway?

I will admit the new Genie is good but not as good as the original. (And the original is now in Hamilton which I can't wait to see in January!) I get bored with things quickly. And Aladdin is something I haven't gotten bored with yet!

Speeding ticket, should I go to traffic court or just pay it?

I completely agree. Your driving record plays a role in your sentencing guidelines. For example, if you keep getting DUIs, it will change to an UM to M1, and will increase your sentence.

To Dining Plan or Not to Dining Plan... thoughts?

I didn't think to have one gift card for food only! I've been collecting gift cards (the only way I'll save money is if it's on a gift card) so I'll have to put almost $400 on one then the rest on another for spending. Good idea!
