Hi - seems like this isn't going to work out. No problem. At least you ordered good weather in Wisconsin for my race! :)

    4. Take more time to/from the Parkrun and walk some of the distance instead of running it. Pro: still free and environmentally friendly Pro: good warm-up and cool-down Con: more time

We usually get a cubic yard (I think?) of mulch delivered in a big pile in our driveway. My husband chose us doing this rather than getting bags and putting it out more piecemeal, so he gets to use the shovel and wheelbarrow and put it all out in the yard. This year he did it in just one day...

Congratulations on the parkrun! This is actually why I'm debating doing one of these...too easy of a surface and not enough like a "real" trail. :) Fantastic! Congrats again!

My trail race is in Dodgeville this Saturday (April 20). I'm flying into Milwaukee on Friday and driving west to Dodgeville, through Madison. Since this is one of the probably few times I'll ever be in your neck of the woods, I would feel bad if I didn't offer to take you out for a coffee for...

Week of Apr. 8 - 14, 2024 This was the twelfth week of my 13-week training plan for the Tour de Dodge 27k on April 20. It was the second week of my taper. We're up to 60 runners registered for the 27k! As I write this a week before the race, the weather forecast looks great! This week was...

My Epix does the stamina calculation, too, but I honestly haven't been watching it that much. Maybe that's a good thing? But you have to take all of those with a grain of salt. If Garmin's Body Battery was correct for me, I'd be dead long ago because I'd be at zero - I figure that's the...

I'm feeling you on the hard work week and lack of sleep! Total eclipse 10k is an awesome idea! Did you see the eclipse, too?

@The Expert What fantastic eclipse photos! We were outside of Indianapolis for totality, and it was amazing. I'll write up in my next training log. I'm an astronomer, so happy to take eclipse questions, but I'm not a photographer, so I didn't waste time trying for good photos. @Dopey 2020...

Congrats on a great race! Crowded is the name of the game for the Cherry Blossom races. At least you managed to keep it from affecting you too much.

Sorry to hear about your lab closing! I thought you were at the university, so that seems weird to me (from fellow university person), but I suppose it happens. At least you do have a long lead time for planning. I imagine that staffing is going to dwindle exponentially as people find other...
