I'm really surprised at my reaction to this. I'd pretty much written off the possibility of cruising again, probably for years. But having a full vaccine mandate is making me think of taking the plunge again. A big thing will be seeing if this allows them to relax some of the restrictions...
We are (not) sailing in 20 days. A week ago we decided to book a cruise for next Feb, which would just break even on a a 125%, but this week we're just thinking a refund. We're heading for a Depression and we'd rather have the cash. Disney's foot dragging isn't helping them then.

I feel mixed about the notion of a CoCoCay clone. I like the "natural" aspects of Castaway, but maybe having something more like a water park with more amenities would be a nice alternative. Coco seems over the top though.

The temperature thing is "public health theater." People are contagious long before getting a fever and they knew that at the time. It's like taking off your shoes or taking away your water. It's just something for show that makes your garden grow.
April 2021 or never. A year from now we'll know if there's going to be a recurrence and how bad. If it stays bad and really has the longevity on a surface, cruising is in a lot of trouble. Our maybe it disappears and becomes just another seasonal irritation.
I saw somewhere else that they were closing down their call center until tomorrow. I saw this on the interwebs and it's guaranteed as true as anything. But I wouldn't be surprised, those people have to be like the walking dead by now.
This is just me, but in the face of potential disaster, preserve capital and bunker down. If I could go back to our PIF, I would kneel and thank the Gods, sacrifice a chicken, or whatever to be able to cancel before our PIF.
