Road trip advice Illinois to Disney

We've done this drive many times (Pleasant Prairie, WI)...we always stay in Forsyth, GA on the way down and Louisville, KY on the way back. That gives you about the 12/6 hours split you're looking for and gets you through ATL before stopping on the way down.

Bringing and drinking beer in glass bottles on boardd

We've been on 3 cruises and have never had a problem. If you're worried about it you can ask your stateroom host for a beer glass, or buy a beer at a bar and bring the glass back to your room, and pour it in that. I do that with my wine as well.

Bringing and drinking beer in glass bottles on boardd

We bring glass bottles on board and walk around with them no problem. We just don't bring them to the pool areas.

Just off the Dream...a few interesting points

Just got off the Magic last Friday. There were individual bottles of toiletries and paper navigators each night in our room.

Just back from the Magic (1/6/19 sailing)

Going to be on the same cruise the first week of March. How was Pirate night - was there the dance party and buffet after? I've read that some have been scaled back.

What do you do if you have a bad cold the day you leave?

We've done the same - pulled from school a week ahead of the trip. I don't regret it - if nothing else it gives me some peace of mind in that hectic week before a trip.

Disney Magic and Marvel… A few of my favorite things April 15th- April 20th

Enjoying it so far! We're going on this same cruise next March as a big family trip (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins - the whole gang) so I'm all in on reading about your experience!

    Is disney springs a must?

Looks like I'm the odd man out...but I would make a point to go. It's one of my favorite places to be when we're down there. We don't even go through the mall section of it - we just stroll around with a drink (mickey bar for our 3-yr-old) and listen to the different live music performances...

Rent car to drive to pier and park for cruise

We rent a car and pay to keep it at the port while on the cruise. It's worth the extra money to us to be able to get right in our own car and take off after leaving the ship.

    Closing pools for "accidents"

We were on the Dream last week and while playing in the Nemo splashpad area we all got whistled out. A swim diaper didn't hold a little nugget in. It was shut down for 3 hours. While my 3-yr-old was upset, I appreciated the attention taken to sanitize. As for pee in the pools, it's a given.
