We are frequent renters and I want to add on a day.

Since the room is sold out I doubt they will downgrade you because then someone else wouldn't get the room. They might do it if they have unsold cash rooms available at the time, but I've never seen this happen.

Why is there no availability at 11 months plus 1 day out?

I assume because you can book 11 months out from your first day, so if I have a 7 day stay I can book 11 months + 6 days. if enough people have done that there will be 0 availability at 11 months... could also be that rooms are being renovated, I know there were some times around December that...

Crazy to purchase at a resort I've never stayed at???

I bought SSR without staying there too, that said I had stayed at others (AKL and BRV). I wanted the financial benefit of SSR and wanted to be DVC, I don't regret it, I generally try to stay elsewhere (because SSR needs its refurbishment quite badly not because I don't like the resort) but will...

I suspect Riviera must not be selling as well as they hoped it would

It's all a business decision. They won't remove the restrictions unless sales are hurt, since I suspect most people buy direct without thinking it as much as they should. Most of the direct sales won't even be aware that this DVC is different. This means that Disney won't notice a sales...

    Online Problem

I don't understand why disney's IT is so bad... I know they aren't an IT first company, but I run an IT operations team that supports websites (for a bank), if my sites were down as much as Disney I'd be fired...

ROFR Thread April to June 2019 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

Yeah think this is the new method, they have set some line over which a contact will pass. if the contract is below that number they will simply sit on it until they are ready to take it. I assume this has something to do with people buying direct and the wait lists. Their have been rumors...

    Closing Time!!

Two weeks from when? My account existed 7 days after my contract was recorded on the OC Website. The points were in my account 5 days after that. I was a new member as well. 2 weeks doesn't sound right unless they are just buffering and they mean from recording until points in your account...

    Waiting for points to hit

When I called on Tuesday they said 5 business days, she said something like currently, so I guess it changes based on the backlog. My contact loaded on Monday, the Points were in my account late Friday afternoon... so 5 days... That was 4/8 to 4/12

DVC closing taking longer now days?

Do yo know which title company was used? *** was being very slow around the end of march... In total they delayed my closing by over 25 days. The biggest issue was a week lost while I waited for them to record the closing on the OC website. I believe most of the other title companies are...

    Minimum Direct Points Needed

It is very much luck of the draw. If you don't have deadlines on when you need your points I'd suggest ignoring the price things go through ROFR and bit low, if your contract is taken you just go back and try again. The idea being they can't by them all back and you might get lucky. That said...

    Minimum Direct Points Needed

On my last trip one of the members of my party had the AP with photopass, this was a HUGE benefit, because it allowed him to access all our photos. It made me want photopass every year! I haven't done the math yet on how much photopass costs, but it means it is likely I will want someone in my...

    Closing Time!!

It won't hurt to contact them and your broker. I did, and found out that the seller had returned there docs the day before. *** for me needed to be poked at every step, if I wasn't asking they didn't seem to be doing anything. I know that most people are happy with *** so maybe it's just me.

    First Time DVC Purchase

I would say don't finance.... If you don't have the cash on hand it's probably not a good place to spend money, but I'm not an FA :)
