Waitlist question - need help from experts

Are you trying to do one Cali trip in Jan 2022 and a VGF stay in May 2022? Original post mentions Jan 2021 and it seemed like a typo regarding the trip date ... Is the waitlist in #2 intended to replace reservation #1 if the waitlist comes through? if so, did you select that option when you...

Help with choosing a DVC resort

Have stayed in studios at both Poly and AKL Kidani. Both are beautifully themed and excellent resorts. With your travel party configuration, I would give the edge to poly for the number of sleep surfaces and two showers. The AKL studios have a queen bed and a two person sleeper sofa. The Poly...

Which of these flights should I book, please?

I’d eliminate options #5 and #8 because they are both overnight flights with connections, similar to option #1. But #1 has the advantage of no driving and no parking fees #9 is compelling for the nonstop. I also wouldn’t be surprised if you could do even better on the fare if you stalk the...

made a mistake- would it be worth it to add more so soon?

Having two or more use years at the same resort will generate extra work and headache for the duration of contract ownership. We have two UYs at DIFFERENT resorts and several times we’ve almost listed the “odd man out” contract for resale. Booking and reallocating points for a reservation is...

Disney World Reservation System -POST 1 FOR LINKS

that PR statement is almost as maddening as the experience on Monday! The overloaded system could be partly attributable to people trying to book before their turn. But even that is on Disney for poor communication and for opening the floodgates for everyone with resort stays and tickets...

AP Only Info Thread Reservation System /Extensions / Refunds

I was able to book 15 days of park reservations for three different resort stays that total 15 nights.

Why the heck is Disney moving away from Magic Bands?

The lack of magic bands works pretty well at DL in CA for park entry and max pass. Use either the paper park ticket or app. Our family could actually get into the parks FASTER and onto rides FASTER with max pass than using magic bands. One adult holds the phone and swipes and scans through...

Post Your Rescheduled/Relocated Resort Date Here

Lake view would actually be my preference right now at BLT. Theme park view is primarily parking lot view unless the castle and space mountain are lit and you can see fireworks - - which is not happening for awhile. Balcony view of bay lake is much more appealing right now.

    Rented DVC points expiring—any hope?

Had not heard of this broker before. But on quick review of the site, this broker pays owners 70% of the owner share upfront (16.50 x 0.7= 11.55 per point). For reference, I’m a newer owner and the annual point cost + maintenance fees on my contracts exceed $12 per point. OP can certainly...

    Airlines Must Pay Refunds

Air Canada is not playing nice with us either, despite our flight being entirely cancelled by Air Canada, and being covered by the US DOT position statement. We all have choices in discretionary spending. I will remember the companies that were accommodating and easy to work with during this...

Davids DVC: Rental reimbursement or rescheduling?

As an owner, I would be wary of returning cash back to David. It is doubtful it will make it back to your renter. The most recent email from David’s reads that renters will be offered future travel credit. So the refund you returned in good faith will go towards David’s chargebacks and business...

Coronavirus and DCL Megathread - Suspension of Departures for the fleet until early November. Booking only available from early December.

DCL, you have stretched my patience and goodwill to the max. There is NO WAY any ships are sailing in the next month and certainly not to Canada or Hawaii. Announce the cancellations already! You’ve had my full cruise fare for months now. I’m exhausted and ready for my refund.

    Frustrated with AP

Frustrating for sure. How were you planning to cover hubby’s park days before the AP extension for park closure days was announced? AP renewal? Have you considered buying a multi-day ticket so you can make fast passes now? Then go to guest services when you arrive and see about applying the...

    Lost DVC points

Agree with Aokeefe and Sandi. There’s still decent availability in June and July in one bedrooms at multiple resorts. I’d book something and try to travel or gift the reservation to family or friends before I’d let 180 borrowed points expire.

    Cancellation Contact / Offer Tracker

Yep, no offer for refund yet. I’m going to wait. 100% credit is not enough to entice me when it’s inevitable that an offer for a full refund will be on the table soon.

4/24 San Diego to Vancouver Wonder Email 3/15 100% credit within 15 months of sail date The email states “there have been no changes made to sailings departing after April 12, including your sailing” Which is almost laughable since it is has been widely publicized, including on DCL’s website...

Do you think DVC should be a little more open to people moving dates without penalty because of corona?

For DVC ownership there is a distinct difference between the parks being open and the villas (room) being open for lodging. The timeshare purchase documents specifically state there are no guarantees that any amenities will be available or maintained, which includes parks, swimming pools, etc...

Uber with a 6 yr old, booster seat?

Car seats and booster seats fly for free as checked baggage on US carriers. If your kid rides in a booster at home, plan to have one for car rides on vacation, even if not required by state law. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends boosters until kids are at least 4’9” tall, typically...

Anyone regret buying before staying? Leaning Poly now...

*almost* always is what would make me hesitate about poly and a family of 5. Would you be okay if you arrived and the request for connecting studios could not be accommodated and the adults had to split up? While I have yet to read any firsthand experiences of requests for connecting studios...
