When are you planning to return to DLR?

I think it'll be a couple years for me. I really miss DL, I've been every year for the last 5 years or so - it's my favorite stateside park and I can't wait to go back...BUT, I don't want to experience it while we are still going through this mess we are in right now. This too shall pass, and...

Not sure when we will return

Same here. We typically travel at least once a year (if not more) to the parks on both coasts. We've been very fortunate to have made trips to both Land and World this year prior to things getting crazy. We've come to the realization that it's probably going to be a while before we go again -...

    Retheme Splash Mountain?

I like Splash Mountain but have to admit I've always been a little uncomfortable about the fact that they have a major attraction themed to a film considered by many to be racist and that has been relegated to the Disney vault. (I should qualify that by saying I have never seen the movie, I'm...

    The great “mask” debate

Would you wear a mask if required to enter the theme parks? BTW - Shouldn't this read "Would you enter the theme parks if required to wear a mask?" If they required it, I wouldn't blow off their requirement and not do it. That would be a jerk move. If you don't want to wear a mask, and they...

    The great “mask” debate

Could not agree more. When one considers the logistics of managing masks when spending all day in a theme park - this isn't like wearing a mask when you run into the grocery store. Hours upon hours...hot sun...attractions...eating & drinking....indoors, then outdoors...and ALL of the touching...

If Disney re-opened today what's the first thing you'd eat there?

Wow, there's so much that I miss I almost don't know where to start. But I know I'd have to head to the Riverside Food Court at Port Orleans Riverside. That's one of my favorite places on property...so many happy memories there! :earsboy:

Aside from Virtual RunDisney.. any others

I saw this too! My birthday is next weekend and I am thinking of signing up. I know it's crazy though. My plan would be to get up and run 5 miles at 4am, then follow at 8am, noon, 4pm, 8pm, then finish at midnight. But hey...birthday miles! :-) That hot chocolate website is hysterical!

    Emergency Food Supply

No. I believe each household has to decide what their unique needs are. If what you describe above is standard operating procedure for your household, then by all means, do your thing. What I have a problem with is making the generalized statement that it should be SOP for every household right...

    Emergency Food Supply

When you have the OP talking about keeping a 3 MONTH food supply - that's hoarding.

    Emergency Food Supply

The ONLY reason that we would experience such shortages is if everyone begins panic buying again. There is plenty of food in the system if we manage our households appropriately. Your post is so infuriating...you read an article and paint the entire country with broad assumptions. Go hide out in...

Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I've been thinking about this lately and I think it'll be a while before I could stomach going to a Disney park. NOT because I am afraid of catching anything, whether Covid or whatever, but because I think these proposed changes will significantly change the experience of being in the parks. For...

What was the last "big" gathering you were a part of before the Shut Down?

Disneyland on March 4th. (Managed to get on Rise of the Resistance!) :earsboy: Sigh....seems like a lifetime ago....

Does anyone else kind of just want to get this virus and get it over with?

As an avid golfer I consider myself very fortunate that our course in Texas is still open; however, we've had problems with others coming over whose courses are closed jamming up the practice tee and not following the social distancing rules. So we now have closed the driving range, have...

How good/bad a job has your state done at flattening the curve?

Question about the graphs (which are very impressive by the way...I wish I had graph skills like that). So they seem to project that this thing will be effectively "over" by the start of the summer. ("Assuming full social distancing" disclaimer noted. Big assumption. ) Take NY's graph...

If the flattening isn't working is it time to face reality?

After engaging in the conversation on this thread yesterday, I felt like I needed to take a shower. I said a lot of things that, in hindsight, I wish I hadn't - or, perhaps I should have said them with more charity than I did. I felt (and feel) terrible about it. To anyone who is still on this...

If the flattening isn't working is it time to face reality?

The fatality rate for 30-39 year old is almost negligible. From the CDC: I say "almost". Tragically , there are cases in which fatalities occur in nearly all age groups. But in 36 year olds, they are the extreme outliers.
