1-5-02 Magical Cruise Part 3
I was up early to watch the docking at St. Maarten. Again, we
did breakfast at Topsiders. DH discovered that at Tops you can
eat all you want..instead of going to a sit down breakfast in
Lumiere's!! Took him 3 cruises to figure that out!!!!!!! lol
I had my Alpha Capsule and Foot and Ankle Massage treatment scheduled for today. The Alpha is another of the most relaxing
things I've found on the ship. It seemed like I had just gotten
in the capsule when time was up. If I could afford it, I'd do this
every day. The F & A was also heavenly. For some reason,
my ankles had decided to swell..they stayed that way through
the whole cruise...then as soon as we got home...the swelling
all went away. Anyway...Anna the Spa specialist, gave me a
wonderful massage and put this lovely smelling stuff on the duvet
cover. Come to find out it is Lavender and she explained what it
was for...stress, relazxing, etc...so I bought a bottle of it and I
don't know if its in my brain or what...but it seems to work!!!!
We hung around the pool most of the day..it was great being
there with almost no one on the ship. We met a lovely young
bar hostess named Julia from the UK. We saw her several more
times during the week and she was delightful. We had already
met up with Danielo from The Phillipines and Ann Marie from
Jamaica...we had met Ann Marie last year and she gave me a remedy for a cold.....if you see Ann Marie...ask her about her cold remedy!!!! I had also met Tri(pronounced tree) in Promonade Lounge...she made a great Cafe Mocha(since Starbucks was so
far away).
We attended a special showing of Monsters and were spoiled again by Vlado and Mark. We went up to the Deck Party and
danced and sang and wore ourselves out. There was another towel animal from Lillia, a dog. Natalie tried to save all of them
and by now we had a dresser top full of animals!!!!!!!
Tomorrow...St. Thomas
Once again, I was up to watch the docking in ST. We had to be in the WD Theater at 0700 for the Immigration thing. DH carried
dd in her pj's...as were most of the kids..asleep and in their pjs. This is the only thing about the cruise I was disappointed in. OK...I can see you going to this thing, taking your papers, someone looking at the papers, to make sure you are who you said you were...no one looked at our papers...all they did was stamp our hands with that stuff like you have in WDW when you go from one park to the other... and there was a cast member doing that. We got our hands stamped...we started to walk away..and I stopped and turned around and looked at this poor guy and said "IS THAT ALL?" He said "That's all..." Everyone had stopped...I guess to see if I was going to cause a scene...or because they wanted to find out what was going on too..one or the other..we all just looked at each other and walked on...I'm sure there is a reason for this...but there has to be another way to handle it. So we treked back upstairs and got re-dressed and went to Topsiders again. After breakfast we started the process to get off the ship. As we got to Forward, Deck 1....to leave the ship....I, the best organized person in the world(NOT) had left my pic ID in the cabin. So dh and dd had to trek back to Deck 7 Aft, to get it as I sat on the steps with all the other poor souls who had forgotten one or the other..either KTWW or pic ID. So, at least I wasn't the only one..made me feel better. We finally got off the ship. We were docked with The Golden Princess and the Rapsody of the Seas I think...we ventured across the street and shopped for some liquor and cologne. I wear one that you can only find in the Caribbean and if we don't cruise..I have to find somebody to fetch it for me. We bought some t shirts, some trinkets for Natalie and some Camomille soap for me..supposed to be good for the complexion...we'll see.
We were back on the ship by noon. Where we sat at the pool
and did The Rainforest. The sail away party was two for one
Margarita's...so we indulged in a few of those. Our only alcohol
all week..dh was nursing a cold and we had both decided we'd
rather EAT than drink.
The nights show as Mouseketeer. Natalie was upset that we didn't get picked. We sat in the audience and answered all the
questions....if there is a Disney movie...she has it memorized.
I know it's easier in the audience. No one did very well...I think the highest was like 250. Somebody got zonked on the first question..that was really sad. I could have used 250 sb credit...
more SPA for me!!!!!!!! lol
This was our Palo's night. MAN OH MAN.....we had asked for
Marco as our waiter..he is the boyfriend of server Julia we had met earlier in the week and she said to ask for him..so we did. We had to wait about 20 mins after our ressie for him...but he was worth it. DH always orders Calamari, I ordered the motzerrela and tomato salad, and Marco brought us a pizza and portabello mushroom appetizer. DH had the salmon special, sea bass and mashed potatoes(Marco thought dh looked hungry). I had Filet Mignon. WE both had the souffle, and Marco brought us Tierra Masu & Panacotta, with white chocolate and berries. Needless to say....Marco had outdone himself..as had we. We talked to Marco all during our meal and he was an absolute delight. If you are on the 7 night...and go to Palo's...ask for Marco...you will not be disappointed.
Lillia had made an elephant towel animal for Natalie and we turned in with dreams of.....
Tomorrow, a day at Sea and then Castaway Cay......
