Sorry if this is the wrong thread or already answered and I missed it. If I've already booked and paid for f & w events, is tip already included? I have brunch with a chef and the food and wine vs beer in Italy scheduled and I don't know if those include tip or if I need to bring cash to the events. Thanks.

Gratuity included. No tips expected at either event. I hope you enjoy!!

@GoGoBeans The tofu mousse looks good. How was it? Also do you know what type of liquor was in the sour drink?
The tofu mousse wasn’t bad and I never would have guessed it was tofu. It was very, very smooth and chocolatey. I’m not a big chocolate mousse person to begin with so I didn’t eat too much of it. Had it been a vanilla instead of chocolate, I would have eaten it all.

Not 100% sure on the drink. Sours and melon liqueur, lime and seltzer, I think that was it. It kind of reminded me of an azalea in composition but there was no grapefruit (I asked) and definitely no gin.

Your seating is assigned to a table. You will be escorted to your table and the waiter will tell you where to sit. Ours was a table for six and each pair of two was seated with one guest on each side of the table. We arrived first, so we were seated at the end next to the window. The next two guests were seated next to us and the last two seated next to them. It was the same set up we had last year. The first time we did it we were seated at a table with the bench seating against the wall and chairs on the other side. The three of us (our son joined us that year) were seated on the bench and the other three guests who arrived after we did were seated on the chairs. All three times we had wonderful table mates and talked all during the meal. It's like you are all long lost family members.

Hopefully we will have good table mates like you did!

When you get three items at one booth and use a QS credit, can you get a water as your drink?

My understanding is when you use a QS credit, you are converting it to three snacks... so I assume you could get two dishes and one bottle of water. You could get three dishes and grab free tap water from a nearby QS place...I don’t think the booths have tap water available.

That is my understanding also but if you think about it the three dishes are about the same cost as a QS meal which comes with a drink so you should get a drink with the three dishes. Just a random thought.

We attended the French Family Meal today. It was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the folks at our table were very nice.
Seating details- We arrived about 15 minutes early. We sat next to each other, across from us was another party of two and on the end was a couple across from one another.
We had a great time, hope you do too, @houseofmouse5

Value wise though a QS meal is worth 3 snacks so they are never gonna let you have 3 snacks and a drink. There are some QS meals that are very cheap so although it should be move than 3 snack value it isn't always (I'm thinking Chicken Guy for example where its only around $14 max value). I can confirm that you only get 3 snacks (one of which can be a drink if the booth does drinks).

Since a drink counts as a snack credit, that’s why you won’t get one in addition to three other snack credit items. This is one reason why we don’t get the dining plan when we go to the festival... it seems to us like a waste of money to use a QS on three snacks when you can use one for a higher-priced QS meal and get an alcoholic or specialty beverage with it if you use it the “regular” way. For example - at Satu’li Canteen a beef and chicken bowl is around $18, and a margarita is around $12 - so that QS credit is worth about $30, vs. a $6 average for three food booth items for an $18 total value.

You cannot get alcoholic beverages as a snack at the outdoor kitchens. Just water or non-alcoholic beverages.

Anyone happen to have the recipe for the Apple Blossom Sky cocktail in the Appleseed Orchard tent? It’s fabulous. I know the ingredients but not the actual proportions.

We were at the Festival a couple of weeks ago, and Loved the Maple Bourbon Cheesecake (at The Cheese Studio). Would anyone have the Recipe? Thanks

Has anyone done the Italian wine vs beer event yet? If so, what was the menu like? Are the menus for the events usually the same throughout the festival?

Is there a Festival Cookbook this year?
I'm glad you asked. There is a Cookbook for Disney Festivals, but the copyright is 2018. Nine recipes from Food & Wine. [My son's picture is on the third set of pages under the Woody topiary photo in the Flower & Garden section. Page 51 if any one is interested. :teeth:]

I don't think they make the same meal for every event. They might have a rotation or they make one menu for two or three meals and then change it.

This is great news for me, last year when we went I meant to get one but we were tired and going back to the monorail so I decided to get it later. As these things always seem to go, there was no “later”.

We got ours at the International Gateway store at Epcot.
