March and April Recap:
Busy last couple of months, but I think most of the crazy is now subsiding!!

Financial - able to save a little bit on our mortgage payment; since we've paid off a certain percentage, we no longer needed a certain type of insurance, which saves about $80 a month.
Have June Florida trip paid off by May. (Will probably be using tax refund for a big chunk of this.) Paid off.
Start saving for cruise planned for 2020. Nothing yet; won't really start thinking about it until I'm back from my June trip.
Set money aside for daughter’s college expenses. This has changed a lot!! Daughter received a scholarship for the university in our town, so she has decided to switch schools and live at home next year! We shouldn't have to pay much, if anything, out of pocket. :)
Save money for Christmas. (I have seven kids, so I try to shop all year round.) I'll start doing this when I get back from FL, and may bring home a few gifts.
Set aside money for the roof. I think we’ll need to re-shingle soon. This hasn't happened yet.

House
Continue decluttering. Aiming for 1000 items, hopefully more. Oldest son moved out and took his stuff with - that counts, right? Stepson decided he has outgrown a lot of things he had in his room (clothes, Lego Table, legos, some old toys and knick-knacks, etc) and got rid of a lot this past weekend.
Get new couch for upstairs living room. (This one is a must; currently have two recliners that have seen better days. I’ll be hosting Christmas Eve in 2019 and I’ll need the extra seating.) My brother is redoing his living room and I scored his old furniture which is in great condition! Got TWO couches and a loveseat!!
Once I get the couch, I’d like to get new dining room chairs, if I can swing that, then I’d like a new dining room table next. I’ll see how that goes. The dining set isn’t absolutely essential, but would be nice to have. DH is in his last year of school, so these aren’t very high priorities right now. Haven't looked into this yet.

Kids
Really push the extra reading and math practice with my 1st grader. Faithfully practiced spelling words; this is the last week of school, so I'll need to set up a summer schedule.
Encourage healthy eating choices and trying new foods for my two picky eaters. Found a couple Pinterest recipes to try. - Youngest has branched out more with a willingness to try foods he didn't want to try before; I consider that a win!!
Throw a nice graduation reception for my senior. Just did this last weekend! I think we pulled off a nice reception. We had it the day before the graduation ceremony and did a brunch. I made a big picture collage, my mom assisted with the decorations, everyone seemed to have a good time. This left me time to decompress after it was done, and daughter was able to go to other receptions for her friends.

Personal
Continue to embrace the power of “no”. (I no longer feel bad about declining things I don’t want to do/have no interest in, like Tupperware parties, etc.) I feel I've been doing this.
Continue to keep the joy-suckers out of my life. (Life is too short to associate with folks that are negative all the time and leave me feeling drained.) Yep, I've been doing this as well.
Read one book each month. (Taking Comicguy’s lead here, but starting on a smaller scale. I use to love to read, then I remarried, doubled my family size, and reading for pleasure got put on the back burner!) Ha, yeah, I'm waaaay behind in this area, but I have the best intentions of getting caught up this summer!
Do/get one thing for myself each month. (I turned 40 in October, and it really hit me that it’s time to treat myself more.) I've been getting some new outfits for my FL trip the last couple months.
Loose next 20 pounds. (I’ve lost 20 since October, but I’m pretty sure I gained back at least five from Christmas Break.) Still doing well with eliminating soda and making slight changes.
Start walking more. (I can do this in the winter at either the old mall by my work, or the enclosed college football dome close to my house. I really have no excuses here given the close proximity.) Yep.

Work
Continue keeping my inbox tidy. It's been worse.
Delete old files I no longer need or have saved somewhere else. Hubby helped me create a new way of organizing my files; so far, so good.

May and June Recap:
Some big events now are done for the year like daughter's graduation and my FL trip.

Financial - got a little summer (end of fiscal year) bonus from work last week; I think this will go towards Christmas.
Have June Florida trip paid off by May. (Will probably be using tax refund for a big chunk of this.) Paid off. Went on trip! Had an absolute blast!
Start saving for cruise planned for 2020. Nothing yet; the other mother and daughter going with us have a lot going on right now, so we haven't booked yet.
Set money aside for daughter’s college expenses. This has changed a lot!! Daughter received a scholarship for the university in our town, so she has decided to switch schools and live at home next year! We shouldn't have to pay much, if anything, out of pocket. :)
Save money for Christmas. (I have seven kids, so I try to shop all year round.) Officially started Christmas shopping the other day; found some Kohl's cash that was about to expire, and decided to use it towards some shirts for our oldest. Will use recent bonus from work to put towards Christmas as well.
Set aside money for the roof. I think we’ll need to re-shingle soon. This hasn't happened yet.

House

Continue decluttering. Aiming for 1000 items, hopefully more. Hubby cleaned out the garage! Made several trips to unload stuff!!

Been working on math; need to push the reading practice.
Encourage healthy eating choices and trying new foods for my two picky eaters. Found a couple Pinterest recipes to try. - Youngest has branched out more with a willingness to try foods he didn't want to try before; I consider that a win!!
Throw a nice graduation reception for my senior. Accomplished!

I use to love to read, then I remarried, doubled my family size, and reading for pleasure got put on the back burner!) I'm still behind in this area, but after my second quarter reviews are done at work, I will get on this!!
Do/get one thing for myself each month. (I turned 40 in October, and it really hit me that it’s time to treat myself more.) We treated ourselves to lots of good food on our FL trip, and I got myself some nice souvenirs!
Loose next 20 pounds. (I’ve lost 20 since October, but I’m pretty sure I gained back at least five from Christmas Break.) Walked A LOT on the trip - lead to swollen feet I needed to prop up for a few days. Also drank quite a bit of soda... but, hey, it was vacation :)
Start walking more. (I can do this in the winter at either the old mall by my work, or the enclosed college football dome close to my house. I really have no excuses here given the close proximity.) Walks are easier with the nicer weather now.

Work

Continue keeping my inbox tidy. Surprisingly looks really good right now.
Delete old files I no longer need or have saved somewhere else. Hubby helped me create a new way of organizing my files; so far, so good.

July/August Recap:
Financial

Have June Florida trip paid off by May. (Will probably be using tax refund for a big chunk of this.) Completed trip; had a blast!
Start saving for cruise planned for 2020. Looks like this is getting pushed back to 2021.
Set money aside for daughter’s college expenses. Daughter started college last month, didn't need to take out any loans!!
Save money for Christmas. (I have seven kids, so I try to shop all year round.) Have a bit saved, pretty sure I know what I'm gifting everyone, just waiting for a few specific things until the season gets closer.
Set aside money for the roof. I think we’ll need to re-shingle soon. Decided we won't have any big trips next year, and will focus on getting things done around the house.

House

Continue decluttering. Aiming for 1000 items, hopefully more. Between eldest son moving out, husband cleaning out the garage, and going through three of the kids' belongings as they switched rooms, I'm sure we got there! I lost track counting long ago.
Get new couch for upstairs living room. (This one is a must; currently have two recliners that have seen better days. I’ll be hosting Christmas Eve in 2019 and I’ll need the extra seating.) Completed.
The new dining set will be my birthday gift this year! :) Bday is in October.

Kids

Really push the extra reading and math practice with my 1st grader. He just started 2nd grade. I'm focusing more on the reading, as math seems to come easier for him.
Encourage healthy eating choices and trying new foods for my two picky eaters. Found a few things; I'm happy with that!!
Throw a nice graduation reception for my senior. Completed.

Personal

Continue to embrace the power of “no”. (I no longer feel bad about declining things I don’t want to do/have no interest in, like Tupperware parties, etc.) I've gotten really good at this!!
Continue to keep the joy-suckers out of my life. (Life is too short to associate with folks that are negative all the time and leave me feeling drained.) I've gotten good with this as well!!
Read one book each month. (Taking Comicguy’s lead here, but starting on a smaller scale. I use to love to read, then I remarried, doubled my family size, and reading for pleasure got put on the back burner!) I'm still a bit behind, but finished one book over Labor Day, and I've started the next book in the series.
Do/get one thing for myself each month. (I turned 40 in October, and it really hit me that it’s time to treat myself more.) I got several items on our June trip, so I really haven't splurged on anything the rest of the summer. I have a birthday coming up next month, and getting a new dining set, so I feel pretty content!
Loose next 20 pounds. (I’ve lost 20 since October, but I’m pretty sure I gained back at least five from Christmas Break.) Drinking water as I'm typing this. Decided to focus on adding in more good foods/habits instead of focusing on what I'm trying to eliminate.
Start walking more. (I can do this in the winter at either the old mall by my work, or the enclosed college football dome close to my house. I really have no excuses here given the close proximity.) This has been hit and miss, depending on my work schedule.

Work

Continue keeping my inbox tidy. Ugh.... looking very messy right now, not gonna lie. I'll need to just set aside a time each week to go through emails.
Delete old files I no longer need or have saved somewhere else Have this under control.
