A Christmas Wishes Wedding 12~8~14 WP, LSS,UK Terrace DP ~ NOW A TRIP REPORT!

Day One:

The day FINALLY arrived! We were leaving for Disney World! In Typical "Disney Time Clock" fashion, I was up at the crack of dawn....even though our flight was not until 2:45pm :lmao: I dropped my oldest son off at school and rushed home to finish packing up the items that I was using that morning...tooth brush, phone charger, etc. and also to triple check that I had everything needed for the wedding..I was responsible with bringing the brochures, escort cards, and their ceremony exit music on a cd. I also had to make sure that I had all of the items I needed for the wedding, along with my sons' suit stuff as well! Thank goodness we weren't on our normal 8am flight:hyper: here is my oldest son cutting off the last day of our Disney Countdown Chair Link :)

At 11am I picked my son up from school and at 12:30pm my husband arrived home from work. We threw the bags in the truck and we were on our way to my brother's house so we could follow eachother over to the airport since we were on the same flight. We hit no traffic and breezed through security and airport check in. at 2:15pm we started boarding the plane and the wheels were up at exactly 2:50pm. A 2 hour plane ride later, we landed at MCO :woohoo::woohoo: Their is no feeling like the one you get when you walk off the plane and know you just arrived in Florida :cloud9: We hopped on the tram and realized it was raining :worried:

No big deal though because before we knew it, we were seeing this lovely sight!

We boarded the DME to SSR. We were very excited to stay here for the one night. When I made the room request I had put in Congress Park, DTD view. With checking in fairly late...I think about 6pm-ish, we were given Paddock with a parking lot view :( I was a bit disappointed, but got over it fast...I WAS IN DISNEY WORLD! we had a studio for the night and I completely forgot to take pictures of the room! :headache: We checked out the room, got settled for a minute and then we walked over to DTD for our ressie at Paradiso 37. I couldn't believe how crowded it was...not even thinking it was a Friday night in DTD. No biggie though :)
Our view on the walk over

The main reason why we went to Paradiso, was because I was on a mission to try the famous....

CRAZY CORN!!! All I can say is...WOW! Absolutely delicious! popcorn:: After our reservation, we took our boys to T-Rex to let them dig in the boneyard and we then visited the Lego Store and the World of Disney Store. At that point it was 10:00pm,both boys passed out in the stroller and we were ready to call it a night.
Up next....we check out of SSR and check into the GV at VGF! We visit Epcot and eat at Teppan Edo :)

Day 2:

After a good(and short)nights rest, we woke with excitment; my brother and fiance along with my parents were arriving today!:cool1: We couldn't wait to get our day started since we were going to our first park and checking into our new room :) We decided to walk down to Artist Palette to grab some breakfast before packing up and checking out of SSR. Even though we weren't thrilled with the resort because of its size, it was still very beautiful!
On our walk to eat:

After breakfast, we went back to the room, showered, packed and checked out. We dropped our bags off at bell services and since we were running alittle behind, we decided to take a cab over to the VGF instead of taking the bus to MK and taking the monorail over. The cost wasn't too bad, I think it was just shy of $20 for 4 people and plus tip. When we arrived, we met up with my one brother who spent the night before in a studio at the VGF. We got all checked into the VGF, but unfortunately, our room wasn't ready yet. Check-in went smoothe. The lady checking us in read our notation of high floor request and I had said that was correct. I had asked her if she knew which room we were assigned to and she just smiled and said, "well now I can't tell you that...it will ruin the magic and surprise ;) ". After alittle waiting around, my brother and gf decided they were going to head over to MK while we waited for my other brother and parents to arrive. We decided to pick up some chicken nuggets for my kids while we waited since they were too excited in this morning to really eat breakfast. As we were walking to Gasparilla Grill, my husband could have sworn he saw Tom Hanks...I laughed and said maybe it was him because I know some celebs were in Disney to read at the Candlelight Processional. Oddly enough, as we turned the corner to Gasparilla Grill, who walks out infront of us....Whoopie Goldberg! LOL I knew she was one of the readers, but didn't realize that she was there that weekend!

No sooner did we finish lunch, everyone arrived at the GF. We talked for alittle and then decided to walk over to the Polynesian and then to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot!

First on the agenda was our FP+ Ride...Soarin'! This ride never gets old! Then we had to rush over to Japan for lunch at Teppan Edo. Since our family arrived later than expected, we had to tweek our other 2 FP+ so we could eat first. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The chef was very entertaining for the kids and the food was excellent! Especially the scallops and sushi!

After lunch, we decided to get some Margaritas and some tequila ;)

Me and my husband ;)

The boys :)

After Mexico, we took the kids on Figment and then we got the text that we've been waiting for....Our room was ready!!!:cool1::cool1: So off we rushed to go check into our Grand Villa...Room #1601..the exact room we wanted :upsidedow We decided to call it a night and head back to the room since the people that traveled that day were up since 3am.
*Instead of posting a couple pictures of the room throughout the trip(some were from the first day and some were from the last) I decided to post all room photos here :)

Thank you for a wonderful PJ! It was absolutely wonderful! Thank you.

We are trying to finalize our plans for an April 26, 2015 wedding and reception. Haven't been able to get confirmation on the coach - that is all we are waiting for.

Were the minimums for 2014 lower than 2015?

We plan to stay at GF and do our first look there...Is there something special about room 1601 that you specifically wanted versus other rooms?

Here is what we are hoping for:
Ceremony - France by the fountain or Marina at GF
Reception - France upper terrace.
DP - Trying for UK

By any chance, would your company sell those fastpass table cards and program guides? Those are outstanding.

Thanks again,

Paul & Julia

Hi Paul & Julia, Thank you very much for the kind words :) It was a lot of fun sharing the planning process with everyone!

The coach will be stunning! Every time we are in Disney we see a Disney bride riding in it and it really looks just magical!

I am actually not sure. We did book in early 2014, but for some reason I feel like we were under the 2015 Minimums....We had a Monday wedding so the minimums were as follows:
Wedding Pavilion $4,000.00
Enhancements $5,000.00
Dinner $175.00 per adult

We really wanted room 1601 for the view. Since it was on the top floor, we could see Spaceship Earth and the top of the castle. Other than that, all of the Grand Villas are the same :)

Your wedding plans sound fabulous! I love the idea of the ceremony in France :) and I also love the reception location. We looked into that for the DP, but our party wasn't big enough(and it wasn't available).

We would absolutely sell the fast pass cards and programs. Please PM me with the amount you would need for each or if you would just like the file emailed in PDF format. That way I can give you an accurate quote :)

Wow my mouth is watering! I so wish I would have booked Teppan Edo for our upcoming trip. I am so glad you enjoyed the restaurant, it is definitely one of my favorites.

Your room and view are so gorgeous! I must stay there!

Looking forward to seeing the wedding!:goodvibes

I had not seen pictures of the villas before and WOW!! That room is incredible! What a lovely stay that must have been and the view!!! WOW!! I'm so excited to hear how everything came together and see the pictures :D

Day 3:

We were up and out the door at 7:30am for our breakfast reservation at Hollywood & Vine and also to sign my oldest son up for Jedi Training. If you followed my Star Wars Weekends TR you will already know this, but if not, I'll tell you...
:offtopic:We took a weekend trip to Disney this past May for SWW. The One and Only thing my son wanted to do was to fight Darth Vader in Jedi Training. The day we went, we were at the park extremely early because I had read that its pretty difficult to sign up your child during SWW. Luckly, we got a spot! Anyway, he was super excited and really enjoyed the training, but the weather looked like it was about to pour any second:( And just as the doors opened and Vader came out...They canceled the show due to the rain:sad: He was crushed that he didn't get to fight him, so I made him a promise and that was that the next time we go to Disney, he will definitely get to fight him:)
Now, back to this trip!;) Everyone else went to check in for Breakfast while I got in line for Jedi Training. After I was done with that I met everyone else at Hollywood and Vine. Breakfast was great like always...I'm not quite sure why that restaurant doesn't get the greatest reviews! The kids loved the Disney Jr. Characters !

After we finished stuffing our faces, we decided to go on the Great Movie Ride while our bellys settled! We didn't have a FP+ for it, but the park was pretty empty so we only waited a couple minutes to ride:goodvibes
The Bride and Groom to Be :)

After Great Movie Ride, our plan was to hit 2 of our 3 FP+..Star Tours & TSMM.. take my son to JTA, Visit the Frozen set up to build a snowman and then our last FP+..ToT. Of Course Star Tours and TSMM were great!! As we waited for our time slot for JTA we decided to grab some Mickey Premium Bars!

Finally it was time for JTA!

My son and nephew did great and they were so excited that it didn't rain!!:cool1:
I must say, those Jedi Knights do a fabulous job with the kids! The are great instructors and are very entertaining to the crowd. If you have a kid of age to do JTA I would highly suggest it:thumbsup2 We then backtracked though the park over to the Frozen set up near the Monsters Inc. Meet & Greet...as we were walking I caught this sweet moment between my brother and mother:lovestruc

The Wandering Oaken Trading...So Cute!!

My youngest son is obsessed with Olaf! Needless to say, even though he already has 4 Olafs ranging in size, he couldn't contain himself with the shelves packed with Olafs! :rotfl2:

After we built our snowmen it was on to our final FP+!
All of the kids waiting for ToT..my son's first time!

After ToT is was time to leave the park...Another special moment...This time between my Husband and Brother. These two have bonded so much over the years during our Disney Trips!

We got back to the Resort, showered, ate and headed out to MVMCP. It is such a nice event, but I must say I love MNSSHP better. We took the kids on a couple rides, watched the Castle Lighting and Parade and waited for our reservation for the Dessert Party. It was getting pretty cold at that time sitting in Tomorrowland Terrace so we ended up leaving before the fireworks. Everyone was tired anyway and we didn't want anyone exhausted for the big day TOMORROW!!!!!

We made it back to our room just in time for the fireworks!

Up Next... The Wedding!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone!! Sorry for the huge delay in postings. It has been extremely busy around my way with school projects, birthdays, and now getting my packing list ready for Aruba in less than 2 weeks::yes:: Anyway, I last left off the night before the wedding, so lets get back to it:goodvibes
The morning was finally here and it was the Wedding Day!!:jumping1: at 8am, the groom arrived to our room to leave the bride to get ready and I ran down to Francks to drop off the programs, escort cards and toasting flutes. With all the sunshine we have had for the trip so far, it was so disappointing to see that it was RAINING :( My mom thought that since we had this huge room with a huge dining room table that we have no need for, it would be nice to have room service cater a breakfast for the groom and his family since chances are, none of us would have ate until the wedding:cutie: At 9am the food showed up and let me tell you, they did a fabulous job!IMG_1534.JPG
IMG_1531.JPG
Time seemed to be standing still. We had nothing to do until about 12:15-12:30 which was when pictures were to be taken in the GF lobby. This was a rare feeling for us because we are always running around in Disney! haha. In that time of doing nothing, I caught this sweet pic of my 2 brothers..The groom on the left and oldest brother and one of the best men on the right:teeth:IMG_1535.JPG
But before we knew it, it was time to get ready:flower:

Here are some of the "Pre-Wedding Pics" from Randy :-) As you will notice, The Caddy was a "Must Have" for my brother so you will notice a lot with the car! The funny thing is, all the pics we have seen with the car, the convertible top was down. Since it was raining, it was obviously up and it looked even more beautiful!

After the photos were finished at the GF lobby/Out front It was time for us to head over to the Wedding Pavilion and wait for the ceremony. It gave us some time to get some pictures in there before the other guests arrived.

No sooner did we get to the wedding pavilion, we were told to take our seats because the bride had just arrived and it was time to start.

"Beauty and the Beast" started playing and it was time for the parents to start their entrances..

Then "When you wish upon a star" came on and out came the bridal party...

Finally, the Bells started Chiming and "Here Comes The Bride" started playing...

While the Bride & Groom hung around to get some pictures in the Wedding Pavilion, the rest of us boarded the motorcoach to head to Epcot. As I post these pictures, its amazing how the sky started clearing up just a bit for the castle to be visible. I felt so bad for them because it was a huge disappointment that you really couldn't see it during the ceremony. Luckily you can in the pictures :-)

Since it was still raining/spitting out, the staged exit couldn't be done on the bridge. So we lined up out front of Franck's to throw the rose petals..

When I found this picture online, I knew that they had to have it. My family is huge in to classic cars(if you ever seen the movie "Christine" by Stephen King, my brother, the groom, owns one) I thought it was perfect to showcase the car with the reflection of the bride and groom on their wedding day. I also want to note that the driver of the caddy was fantastic! As we were waiting for the bride and groom, he came up to me and asked if they had a special song...of course I drew a complete blank, but I atleast remembered what their wedding song was going to be. He told me that he would play that for them on the way to Epcot which I thought was very sweet! Also, in regard to this picture, the hubcaps and bumper were wet from the rain, so he kindly took a towel out and wiped the car down so they could capture that picture :-)
