A couple of AKL concierge questions

I made the switch to AKL concierge for our July trip (yippee!!) and have a couple of questions. First, is there normally a fee to use the fitness facility and is it included with concierge level? If not, does anyone know how much it costs?

Also, I read on the Disney site that concierge includes "curbside check-in." At the risk of being dense, how does that work? Do we really not have to wait in line inside?

Lastly, as far as room requests go, we really want savannah view although I know there's no guarantee. Do I make my request by e-mailing the concierge or by faxing?

Sorry i don't know about the health club nor room request, but if I recall the check-in was handled by driving up to the front doors, they load all your luggage on a cart and take you over to a special check-in area on the first floor where someone was assigned to you to take you up to the concierge level where you checked in at the concierge desk. The desk on the main floor may just have been the bellhop desk now that I think of it.

There is a fee to use the fitness center at the AKL, it's $15 per day or $40 or $50 for your entire stay, I think, and is not included with concierge. When you arrive at the AKL, your name will be on a concierge list with the security guard. They will radio up to bell services that a concierge guest is checking in. YOu will be greeted by a bellperson, who will then unload all your luggage and place it on a cart. You will then proceed inside, to the bell services desk, where there will be an envelope with your name on it. If your room is ready, you will be escorted directly to your room by the attendent during which time, you'll also receive a brief tour of the resort. After which, you can then proceed to the concierge desk at your leisure to check-in. If your room is not ready, bell services will hold your luggage and you'll still be given the brief tour and then escorted upstairs to the concierge lounge to check-in. I made all my room requests directly by e-mailing the conceirge staff. If you've told them, your requests will be noted on your reservation, and faxing is really unnecessary. If you are booked in a non-smoking room, you most likely will receive a savannah view, since all of the non-smoking rooms in concierge are savannah views. The pool view concierge rooms, are all smoking optional. Also, there are VERY few savannah view rooms on the 6th floor, so if that's what you really want, you'll be located on the 5th floor.
