I am looking for something extra special for our trip in September. We've done the Fantasmic balcony, the Imagination to Celebration and I was hunting for something special to suprise my DH with on this trip. I am thinking a VIP tour would be a nice splurge, but I am not quite sure what I am getting into, and better yet, if it is "worth" it. It would be just DH and I and I reaaalllly want reserved seating for Remember, so that is an added perk to get the reserved seating for that. I ended up spilling the beans to DH just to get his feedback about this idea, and he seems all for it, but we both would like to hear some reviews of your experiences.....found one in a search here, but it wasn't all that descriptive, so any help would be great!!!!!

I think you set the itinerary for the VIP tour. They do not offer ( read, guarantee) any front of the line services, although I've heard that occassionally a guest gets this with a few of the attractions. You can get reserved seating for the Parade or Fireworks - but make sure that it is at the end of your tour, because it will be counted as Tour Time (as will Lunch, or any other breaks you wish to take) if it is during your tour time.
As I recall, this tour is so much $$ per hour (can't remember exactly how much) and it must be at least four hours. It is for your group alone, so if there are only two of you it might get very pricey. Is this the tour you are thinking of?

yep, that is it. I know it is a bit spendy, but DH is out of the country for 2.5 months at a time and only home for a short period in between, so we splurge a bit on fun stuff when he is home.

I know DLR pretty well, not like the back of my hand, but I am certain there are nooks and crannies that we are completely unaware of.....I am hoping the tour will show us that...BUT if it is only a tour of "what attractions do you want, okay, lets go...This is Dumbo...." I can do with out the price tag for the tour then. That is the info I am looking for. I am curious about being charged for Remember...reserved seating for that hour. I thought I read they will take care of any reserved seating ressies for you despite the time of your tour....

two-foxes, I would suggest calling guest services for clarification on the tour. The way it was explained to me was that you got your own tour guide for a minimum of four hours. No front of the line benefit was offered. You could customize the tour in different ways, such as ask for a specialist in Disney History, Trains, Attractions, Disneyana collectables, or whatever you wished. There are no real behind the scenes benefits (I was told). Prefered seating for whatever you wish are included (except for Fantasmic Dessert)- however if the parade takes place in the middle of your four hour tour and you want reserved seating for the parade at that time, your four hours keeps ticking while you are watching the parade. If your tour is over at 2pm, you can still get preferred seating for the parade that takes place after that and/or for fireworks (I was told)

Sorry I no longer have the number for the tours. They are the only ones that can totally clear up your questions. I was going to do it as a gift for the entire family at Christmas (including in laws, nieces and nephew etc.) but even then it was not cost effective.
