Are you going see the solar eclipse?

I live in the path of the eclipse but we have patients scheduled during it so I doubt I will be able to get away to watch it.

I'm going to see it on recess while my students are escorted by aides to the restroom. Because putting us on "rainy day schedule" and taking them to the bathroom during the peak is so much safer than giving them NASA approved glasses and being monitored while they watch it. I'm sure NO kids are going to look at the eclipse on their way to the restroom.

I'm only in the 80% range but glasses cannot be found. On Monday at noon our local library is handing them out but I know someone who works there that said they are expecting people to line up super early. I may drive by with the kids and if it doesn't look bad we may wait on line but I doubt it.

90% here, that is good enough for me, and I will be at work, so I have no choice but to stay local.

Yes!!

Got our glasses & eclipse t-shirts. Got Sundrops, Milky Ways, Sun Chips, & Moon Pies! Also, a local bakery was making eclipse themed cookies, & I picked up our dozen today!

I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow to buy stuff for sandwiches, & we'll pack our coolers & be ready to go!

We are driving about an hour north to be in the very center of 100% totality which occurs about 2:30 pm, but we haven't decided how early we're leaving yet.

EDITED TO ADD - All local schools are closed. We've been told to expect lots of traffic & to have a full tank of gas & plenty of snacks w/ us in our vehicles.

Our city is in the 99% totality area, &, earlier today, when we were downtown, there were tons of out-of-town cars! We're in TN, & we saw cars from Texas, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Rhode Island, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Canada, & even Guam.

In the path of totality here! :cool2: Have our glasses, and we are all staying home from work to avoid crazies on the road. We'll just wander out every once in awhile to check it out. Looking forward to it! DS10 is going to school, but they have glasses as well and will be going out to view it. I will not, however, post about it on Facebook. :rotfl:

Got glasses, chairs, free hotel rooms, ice coolers and a full tank of gas. Leave for KC tomorrow morning.

If it's not cloudy I plan on watching our 80% eclipse with my two paper plates. :)

Had a viewing trip planned with some friends to drive to the maximum eclipse path in Wyoming (I live near Denver). Had a campground set up and everything but had to cancel due to a business trip that came up. Now I'm in N. Europe and won't even see a partial!!

Of course! The path of totality is the only plus to our house's location, but that's 2 1/2 minutes I'd rather be here than at Disney.
As long as the clouds stay out of the way.
Moon blocking sun = awesome!
Cloud blocking sun = ugh!

I am in a 80% area but no glasses to be found but might try my hand at a pin hole viewer. It is supper smokey from wild fires here can't even see the sky so not sure what it it will be like on Monday.

We live at the beach in the path of totality in South Carolina. Took the day off work, and we're heading with friends and family to make a beach day of it. A cooler full of food and drink, a beach tent and -- of course -- plenty of eclipse glasses for all!
