Baymont Inn and Suites - Celebration - short review

Just wanted to share my experience.

I booked a night at the Baymont Inn and Suites right off 192 and right on Sherberth Road before a resort stay.

We decided to just do the road trip in one day, rather than staying in southern GA like we normally do so we could just wake up and go right to a park.

I was worried about the hotel due to lukewarm to bad online reviews and while the lobby was very new and fancy looking, the rest of the hotel definitely looked like an old, worn, heavily used resort hotel.

Negatives:
The hotel didnt have my reservation in their system correctly. They had it in for MAY not March. (Made via Expedia)

Breakfast is pretty lackluster. We just grabbed a few items to go and supplemented our own stuff for breakfast. Depending how crowded it is, just may not be worth the time, but is a step above a continental breakfast, but nothing like a Hampton Inn.

Room very worn.

Outside facing room (no different than a hotel like Pop Century or the All-Stars, but I wasnt expecting that for a Baymont).

Pros:
Price - got it under $90 for a Saturday night in March.
SO VERY CLOSE to the parks. No need to get back on 192 or I-4 -- just talk Sherberth Road the back way to WDW resort. Literally about 5 minutes from AK parking lot.
They handled our reservation problem by upgrading us to a Kid Suite (which felt like it was in better shape than other rooms based on reviews)

Definitely not as bad as I feared from the reviews, but again we had an upgraded room and we got up early enough the breakfast wasnt crowded.

So.. it was good for a one night stay before a true Disney resort stay. Being able to just pull out of the parking lot and go to AK was amazing. The hotel is probably closer to AK than the All-Stars.

Probably wouldnt recommend it for a longer stay unless you are on a budget. Just doesnt the cleanliness or amenities for a longer stay.

I stayed there for a short 3 night trip about 3 or 4 years ago. I agree with your report 100%. I absolutely loved the proximity to AK. The rooms were "okay" - certainly not dirty, but quite worn. The lobby is really nice so it was a bit of a let down. Our door would hardly close...had to slam it to get it shut enough to feel safe. Again, it wasn't dirty - they did a good job cleaning. I would stay there if the price was right but only for a short stay.

The staff including the front desk - very nice. We just didn't even bother with that pitiful breakfast. LOL

If you can find this hotel on Hotels.com or the like for about $50-60, it's a steal! It's a serviceable room for that amount of money. We stay here often when we volunteer at races, or when we can't get a room elsewhere. I like that the rooms are spacious, including the bathroom area.

I've stayed here several times on one nighters and short trips because of the location and low price. I felt for the price it was a step above some of the other places I've ended up as far as cleanliness goes. I'm booked here for a weekend this December just because I trust it and never had any major issues here. Basically, it's not one of those places that makes you feel gross. lol

Agreed! One of our first off-property stays was a Travelodge (I think) on 192 near Orange World. It was scuzzy! I'm pretty sure there were drug deals going down in the courtyard. We're also pretty sure there were some hooker/john situations happening. We dubbed it PornGe World, and we just laugh whenever we drive by it.
We've also stayed at Champion's Resort and Seralago, both of which were fine. But I'd choose Baymont over either of those.

Wow, sounds like we live parallel lives lol. I have tried Champions and Seralago as well and think the same thing. We tried to stay at a little joint called Maple Leaf (probably motor lodge lol) trying to be thrifty and I made it one night. It was just too sleezy. Another time I had booked a one night stay on hotwire just because it was so cheap. It was one of those secret hotel deals where they tell you the name after you book. Well I looked it up once I found out the name and turns out it was on an episode of "Hotel Impossible" or something to the tune of that. It's claim to fame on the show was that it had "the worst case of bed bugs ever seen on the show!!" Um yeah, we rebooked for the Rosen Centre and called it a day! lol

I have been staying at this hotel for years. I live 3 hours from Disney and go often. I have stopped paying Disney's high prices for all my trips. This hotel is convenient, safe and rooms are clean. The staff is very helpful. I stay so often the manager knows my name haha.

Can you please tell me the address for this hotel? I'm interested in trying it out for a one night stay I have coming up. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you can walk to AK from the hotel? Thanks

I usually hotwire this room and get it for $40 a night out the door (including taxes and resort fees).

Thats an amazing price for a safe hotel close to WDW. I see negative comments about the breakfast. Would anyone mind sharing what they offer? Is it enough to fill bellies until lunch?

I also frequently hotwire it under $40 (we love on property, but to keep costs down we do split stays, particularly for arrival and departure). The breakfast is okay. Depends on how big an eater you are. It really is mostly bread products, but it has improved since our first stay in 2012.
