Best Food Places (including Buffets) in Vegas for Families with Kids

We will be in Vegas next week for a week with an overnight trip to Zion. I have been reading different boards regarding things to do and places to eat.

What are the best places to eat for families with kids (age 7 and 10)? My brother's family will be visiting us while we are there and they have 2 teens. Since I will be footing the bill for all 10 of us, I am looking for ideas. There are so many buffet places that my head is spinning just to hear all the names, but which one is worthwhile? Breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner buffet?

Thanks so much!!

Excalibur - has a great buffet for kids, and they can also hang out at the non Casino Sections as well.

The Rio, it's north of the strip (The Blue, burgandy and Dark Blue hotel)
The have a 2 great buffets, one is a seafood all you can eat with Lobster tails, but it can be pricey, the other is moderately priced.

but they do have a sky parade which has floats flying over head with music and dancing and the toss beeded necklaces even if you don't eat there I would definately suggest going to see it (it's a free stage show)

Tropicana - The have an awesome sunday champange brunch, and they make a pretty good memosa and there's no charge on the champange. and they are priced pretty well also.

in closing my order of preferences for someone with kids would be.

Excalibur
Tropicana (if on a sunday)
Rio

Hope this helps a bit.

Rudy,

Thanks for the feedback. I have to look into the Sky Parade time. What do you think of Wynn's buffet?

We did Margaritaville with the kids and it was lots of fun. Loud and lots to look at:)

There are several theme restaurants in town; off the top of my head here goes:

Rainforest Cafe (MGM Grand)
Planet Hollywood (Forum Shops at Caesars)
Hard Rock Cafe (off strip, Paradise & Harmon)
Nascar Cafe (Sahara)
Margaritaville (Flamingo)
ESPN SportZone (NYNY)
Gameworks Arcade (has sit-down restaurant inside; in Showcase Mall near MGM Grand)
Dick's Last Resort (Excalibur; lunch only; more adult at night)
Quark's Bar (LV Hilton at the Star Trek Experience)
Kahunaville, Treasure Island (lunch only; more adult at night)

Places a child may like:

Cheesecake Factory, Forum Shops
PF Chang's, Planet Hollywood Casino
Burger Bar, Mandalay Place mall between Mandalay Bay & Luxor
Carnegie Deli, Mirage
California Pizza Kitchen, Mirage & Fashion Show Mall
McDonalds at the Midway at Circus Circus
Soda Fountain at FAO Schwartz, Forum Shops at Caesars

"Nice' restaurant to bring a child:

Sensi, Bellagio
Olives, Bellagio
Japonais, Mirage

Any buffet will probably impress a child. Food quality will be better at the ones that cost more. I would recommend lunch for places like Bellagio and Wynn. Treasure Island has great desserts, including cotton candy and donuts. Good Luck!

Rudy,

the sky Parade is on the hr ever hr I think but you can't hold me to it :)

I've never eatten at the Wynn, but If my memory serves me correct the head chef of one of the resturants was a winner on that TV show Hells Kitchen :)

I'd think the Wynn would be pricey.

Thanks for the replies. We did the brunch at Wynn for 10 people. It is $29.95 per person plus 18% tips because of our party size, but it was very nice. In addition, the waiter did not mind that we sat around and we ended up having both brunch and dinner food. Afterwards, my brother's family left for LA so it was just a peferct place for us to hang out for the afternoon. The kids loved their candy apples!

The half price ticket booths also sell discounted buffet vouchers to Paris, Todai, and Rio. I did not buy them because we are leaving in 2 days, but for others who are interested, it is a bit cheaper.
