hi what are some of the best clean, safe and kid-friendly hotels to stay at in Vegas for a few nights?

I've wondered this too. As a kid we always stayed at Circus Circus but that place is a zoo now. One considered the Four Seasons. It on the top floors of the Mandalay Bay, has it's own entrance and pool. No smoky casino.

Circus Circus is certainly kid friendly and safe. But as luv2sleep mentions,
it's a "zoo" - lot's of kids running around. Might be fun for the kids. It's a
little run down but clean - just not up to LV resort standards.

Excalibur is kid friendly, clean and safe. Not as much for kids to do there as
Circus Circus but a nice "low rent" hotel.

It's tough, Vegas isn't really a kid friendly place. Circus Circus does have plenty for kids, but it is run down and it is way too crowded, I would not stay there.

Unless you plan of letting the kids run free, you have to be around your kids anyways. So, I would say just stay near the M&M world/Coca Cola world (MGM, NYNY, Excalibur) or Fashion Show mall (Mirage, Wynn, Venetian). At least at those places, it is clean. The M&M world area is under construction right now though and not as kid safe. I would opt to be near the mall area.

I would suggest Vdara at Aria. Vdara has no casino and is a beautiful hotel! Mandalay Bay has the Four Seasons, also with no casino, I believe. And the Signature at MGM. If the casino isn't an issue I would suggest MGM or Aria for their locations, NY NY is also fun for kids.
Excalibur and Circus Circus are both kid friendly but very run down. I would not stay at either hotel. I would not even visit Circus Circus!

We don't have children but if the pool is going to be part of the trip don't stay at NYNY. You can still do the rollercoaster staying at another hotel. We stayed there a few times but the pool area was very cramped. Since we were there in March the pool wasn't a big selling point. On the last couple of trips since we went in October we went to the Mirage who has a better pool area.
From what I've read MGM, Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay have the best pools. My other suggestion would be to do LV during the week. Everything had more of a "party" atmosphere Friday thru Sunday not to mention just a lot more people walking the strip, at the pool & waiting for tables at restaurants. This was in October. As vets of the Jersey shore during the summer it didn't bother us.But we have had years of practice;)

Vegas used to be more family friendly. I read somewhere that it was trying to change it's image and be more of an adult playground. I think they've accomplished that goal. Too bad.

Count me in with the people who would not step out of a car at the Circus Circus area..........I think the MGM/NYNY/Excalibur choices would be better.

I'm interested in what folks have to say, too. My cousin is getting married in Vegas next June, and we're trying to figure out if we can go. DS will be 6, and my cousin hasn't decided yet if kids will be included or not. My family is all from the Midwest and we live in CA. Most of my extended family hasn't even met DS yet, so if kids are invited, we'll definitely be bringing him.

So either DH and I will have a weekend in Vegas for her wedding while DS stays with DMIL, or we find a kid-friendly hotel and bring him with us. But we aren't planning on spending much time there anyway - probably use it as a starting point for a trip to the Grand Canyon and/or Bryce Canyon after the wedding.

Any thoughts would be helpful!

Not any different than what you've read above.

Circus Circus is rundown but kid friendly. Dot2Vegas is correct about Vdara
at Aria - very nice, new, modern and a bit upscale. I would call it "kid
friendly" personally but it doesn't have a casino so that's something.
Excalibur seems like the most popular choice. But as everyone is saying,
Vegas dropped the "family friendly" attempt several years ago and really
is not a kid friendly place even though there are several things for kids
and families to do together.

What about the Tahiti Village Resort & Spa (7200 Las Vegas Blvd South)? Our family stayed there last summer, and it was wonderful! It's a very short drive (or shuttle) to the Strip, but it is excellent for families. It doesn't have a casino on site. It is very close to shopping as well. It has a beautiful pool area, although we didn't manage to try the lazy river.

Vdara is not part of Aria. It's part of the CityCenter project, which includes Aria, the Mandarin Oriental, Crystals, and Vdara. Vdara is actually across the street from Aria.

Now the Four Seasons appears to be taking up several upper floors of Mandalay Bay's tower.

thanks everyone.

We are not actually planning a vacation to Vegas. Our actual vacation destination is in Disneyland, but we are flying into Vegas and will drive to Disneyland.

So we will only have 1 night in vegas. (the night before we fly home). so the only sightseeing we will do is drive down the boulevard and see the sights, and maybe stop in to the the Bellagio fountains, and a few other neat hotels.

So really just need a clean and safe hotel for the night.

Tahiti Village is a great option. I stayed here a few years ago for Memorial Day weekend. We were kid free, but there were ton of kids there. The lazy river was a nice option. I would definitely stay there again.

Can anyone tell me where the safe areas to stay are? We have two kids (19 and 16) and are planning to spend 2 nights before driving for a 10 day California trip. We will have a car so would prefer to stay off the strip as I am allergic to smoke and I heard that many hotels on the strip are smoky or try to mask the smell with deodorizers...help! We would actually prefer a quieter area where we can self park and possibly get a suite that is reasonable.

Another one who would not stay at circus circus......oh my! We have stayed at the MGM, Venitian, Cesars, Paris and a few others. All are nice hotels but we just never got the Vegas vibe when the kids were with us. It seemed like a hazzle to get through the strip to the hotel and by the time we unloaded luggage had dinner it seemed like it was time to pack up again to be on the road so for just an overnight stop on the way to Disneyland we stopped stopping and just drove straight through - I want to be a fan of Vegas but I'm just not. If it were just an adult trip for a couple of days I would have no problem staying at any of the hotels I listed. Good Luck!

Tahiti Village is a GREAT idea for people with kids because of all the reasons you mentioned....

The POOLS are wonderful. Locals even rent suite's during the summer so their kids can have some fun at these great pools.

I've stayed at Wyndham Grand Desert with my kids. It's off the strip but they have a free shuttle to the strip (certain hotels, can't remember which ones). It's non-smoking, casino-less, and has a pool/spa at each tower. We stayed in Tower 3 which is newest built. The rooms are the best part. We got a 2 bedroom suite that had a full kitchen and stacked laundry machines inside the room. Parking is so convenient as well.
