Delta airlines has just retired all their remaining Boeing 727's after over 30 years of service some of the former Delta tre-Jets are now in storage . some will fly again as freighters and some will be scraped for spare parts. I saw my first 727 in 1974. It was a American Boeing 727-200. I will Miss them flying in and out of Port columbus airport and many Airports around the Country. :( :(

I'm sorry you will miss them, but I won't. Every time I fly, I start thinking about how old the planes are. I wish they would retire them sooner than 30 years! I know planes are made to last a long time, but when they get to 20 and 30 years, it just scares the bejeesus out of me to think about it!
