Has anyone stayed at or know anything about this resort? I came across it while I was helping DH book a hotel for business travel. It looks like a nice family place we could possibly join him while travelling. I always like to hear feedback before making any kind of decisions though!
TIA, Beth

We haven't stayed there but have heard it was nice. Two places come in mind when you say family and they are JW Marriott Desert Ridge and Westin Kierland Resort. They have great pools that even include a lazy river. I also believe if you have young school age kids, Westin Kierland has a Kid's Club program.

Really depends what part of town you want to be in. Wild Horse Pass is supposed to be quite nice, but I think there are places that are more convenient to the sites.

I hear good things about the Desert Ridge Marriott. But, the two people that I have known who stayed at the Westin weren't thrilled with it.

Many of us who live here like the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. There isn't a lazy river, but it does have a great pool slide and a fantastic kids program. The kids program is available at no charge to hotel guests (you only pay for the kids lunch if they stay over lunch time). My kids spend all day at the kids club and I get to do an adult vacation with my husband. And, the kids love it so it isn't like I am forcing them into it.

We have stayed there and while it's nice, it's more of an adult resort to me. It has a casino on property, which you can get to via gondola, which is cool. But there weren't many kids the weekend we were there.

For a great place, check out www.arizonagrandresort.com. It has a fabulous waterpark on site and has been recently remodeled (it was formerly The Pointe South Mountain). There are 2 other Pointe resorts that have waterparks on property but the first one is our favorite. Marriott Desert Ridge is nice too and I'd rate the Westin behind it (but they have a great golf course and are next door to a nice shopping center).

Thank you for your replies! I was looking at the Sheraton specifically since my DH has a lot of meetings in Chandler, so it was a good location for him.
Also, it was more reasonably priced and easier justified as a business expense.

Your information is good in planning a family trip where it will be at our own expense. We have stayed at The Camelback Inn (an adult only trip) and The Hyatt at Gainey Ranch with our kids. We were looking to try the Marriott Desert Ridge or the Westin Kierland. I will also look at the other resorts mentioned. Thanks so much!!!
(I LOVE Arizona and would spend every vacation there if I could!)

debabe723, I think it was you who helped me out on my last trip to Az.
and thanks to you contributed to my love of it!
We did stay at the Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch and thanks to your tip had breakfast EVERY day at Paradise Bakery! My DD STILL asks about Paradise Bakery and wants to know when we can go there again.
Thank you! :)

You are very welcome. The Arizona Grand Resort is close to Chandler so it might be doable for the business trip. Check it out on the map. Let me know if you stay at either Desert Ridge or Kierland...I am very close to both and maybe we can meet up (at the Paradise Bakery, of course). :thumbsup2

I stayed there last April and had a good time. I was with my mom and daughter. My DD (then 4) had a great time in the kids club, we had a great time at Rawhide (fantastic dinner, especially) and loved the pools! We did a couple of activities there at the resort, like the wagon rides and such. I would really recommend it.
