combo points and cash room

We just added 2 days to our Dec vacation. We paid cash due to non-availablility. We rented a 1 b/r, we are staying on points in a 1 b/r. Has anyone done this? What about being able to stay in the same room?

We have done this. Tell CRO about your DVC nights and tell MS about your CRO nights. They can note it on your ressies and try to keep you in the same room. They cannot guarantee it will happen. Even if it works out you will need to go to the front desk and re-check in and get new keys.

When you check in, make sure you tell them immediately about your two reservations. They may be able to block you into a single location at that point, too. And make sure the name is the same on both reservations. That makes it easier on them.
