For our 25th anniversary my husband and I can sail the 7 night Oasis of the Seas in a Grand Suite or the Fantasy in a Category V. Has anyone done both or since this is the RCCL forum, can you tell me more about your concierge, specifically Sky level, experience?

Our 25th is special but I am not sure, as much as I love Disney, it is worth $1,900 more with what appear to be less suite perks. Thanks!

We sailed in a Grand Suite on the Oasis in December. Didn't use the Concierge for anything in particular, just booking a few specialty restaurants. Big advantage to being in a GS on the Oasis is the ability to eat in Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food there was really, really good. We never made it to the Main Dining room because we either ate at CK or one of the specialty restaurants.

We have another Dream Concierge in Nov. and a GS on Oasis in March. IMO, the cabin and the concierge lounge on Dream are a plus but Coastal Kitchen and unlimited VOOM on Oasis are a plus. Not much into the other perks. Had a chance last month to book Oasis Owner's Loft STAR for $7,400 for us but just didn't fit the calendar.

Thanks so much! Both your comments are very helpful. Leaning toward Oasis at the moment.

What does VOOM mean?

We are trying decide between Fantasy regular veranda room or the Crown Loft Suite on the Oasis of the Seas. They are the same price, but Oasis is concierge. We have only sailed Disney (7 times) and are empty nesters so the next trip will be just the two of us. We are really nervous to try RCL. Will it be as nice? We aren't big drinkers (we will have a couple a drinks and maybe a tasting but not every night) and I hate gambling. We are getting bored with Disney and feel we are paying a lot of money for the wonderful kid spaces that we don't use. We love Serinity Bay and the adult spaces on the Fantasy, but we have seen the shows and just skip them now. For those who have sailed both, what do you think?

I can relate to what you are going through. It is just me and DH and since it's our 25th anniversary I want something very special. While I am a bit nervous about sailing Oasis after extensive research I feel confident our Grand Suite experience will be wonderful. I just cannot justify spending $2,000 more for a Category V stateroom on Fantasy. We are not big drinkers and would never set foot in a casino either but I think the Sky suite perks along with the ice shows, aqua shows, Cats performance, the Solaruim, Central Park, the Boardwalk and spending time on our balcony will more than keep us occupied. Let us know what you decide.

It's our 25th this year too! We almost went with concierge 1 bedroom Eastern on Disney today, but they sold the last room on the date we wanted. LOL! I really like the Disney Eastern ports more than the RCI Eastern ports, that's another reason I'm having a hard time with going with RCI.

We were in a Grand Suite in December on the Oasis and it is very nice. One of the great perks of staying in a Grand Suite (and higher) is the ability to go to Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Our Dream Cabin 12,526 was OUTRAGEOUSLY WONDERFUL. So much so that we had dinner in our cabin's dining room every night. On Oasis, the perk regarding Coastal Kitchen is having the upscale dining without an up-charge. CK food IS NOT the typical cruise fare. Free VOOM is better than what DCL had even though in concierge we did get tons of free minutes. I was still checking on usage with DCL.

Our 45th anniversary next year will be cruising Norwegian's Sun to Alaska right after Oasis.

Thanks everyone!! The more research I do and the more DH and I talk about it we believe the Oasis is going to be a great ship to spend our anniversary on next year. With the money we save I am planning a 5 day girls trip to Disney next September and DH and I will spend 2 or 3 nights at Disney before we sail. I'm getting very excited and know we will sail DCL again someday.

We did a junior suite on Liberty of the Seas last year. The concierge was nice. I went there for a quiet place to read and get coffee in the AM, and took advantage of the free drinks and appetizers in the evening. The concierge himself was great and was very helpful with last minute planning of things such as private FloRider lessons, etc, and helped clear up some issues with excursions, etc. We definitley enjoyed all of the fun activities, but we missed the Disney touch. Its that little "Jena se qua" that makes the Disney experience better, in addtion to better food and happier staff.

So do you feel you would rather sale in a regular balcony cabin on DCL v a suite with full concierge privileges on an Oasis class ship? I didn't think jr suites get full suite perks.

Can't speak for Steve, but I'd go for the full suite (Grand Suite) on an Oasis Class ship. In fact, I've done exactly that.

OKW Lover - Good to hear!! I was thinking the same thing. Love DCL but I love the perks the Sky level Grand Suite offers too!!

Can I ask if you have rented a bungalow on Labadee? Also do you have an opinion about the various beverage packages? I was thinking since we have access to the suite lounge it might not be needed.

We didn't even get off the ship at Labadee. Not beach people and not into physical activities so didn't see the reason to. I will say we had planned on it originally. It was kind of a last-minute (well, a couple of weeks before the cruise) decision to stay on board. It was nice on board. Val & I got massages and just relaxed.

We are big wine drinkers and decided that there was no reason to get a beverage package. Since wine was included in Coastal Kitchen (where we took most of our meals), and the suite lounge plus we had brought on a couple of bottles ourselves there wasn't any way we were going to be drinking enough elsewhere to make the beverage package worth it. Turned out to be correct.

Thanks for sharing your experiences we me. We are not big beach people and spending the day relaxing on the ship is definitely an idea. I also was thinking we might take quite a few meals in CK.

We booked the DCL Fantasy Eastern family stateroom with oversized verandah. I like the Eastern itinerary on DCL more than the RCL. We like to get off the ship and go snorkeling or get on a catermaran or visit the sites, so ports are important to us. We get bored staying on the ship all the time. Also, by the time we decided to choose a cruise the loft suite on RCL was gone, so prices were a lot higher. This is for Oct 2017, so room choices are getting really limited.

My husband wants the western itinerary and since it coincides with our anniversary that's what we are going for. We will most likely rent a cabana on the suite beach if we decide to disembark on Labadee but if we do stay on board I'm sure this large ship will keep us as busy as we would like to be. I'm going to view this cruise like I do when we go to Universal -- as it's own unique awesome experience.
