Starboard. They don’t cross over the ship.

Just an note- On our Feb cruise they shot the fireworks off on port side due to the wind. None of us were anticipating the change.

No, that's the left side. They're shot off from the starboard side unless wind changes it.

They leave it for starboard and aft cabins, at least we've received them.

Technically neither. They ask you not to be out on your balcony during fireworks for safety reasons. But, as others have said, they are usually shot off from the starboard side of the ship (which is the right side if you're facing forward). But, they can move them to the port side if needed due to wind or other factors.

It has always been starboard (right) for our four times, but nothing is guaranteed.

Starboard. If you face the screen on the pool deck, it is your right hand side.

If you go up on deck to watch them it doesn't matter which side you're on. Yes there are crowds where the show is but as the fireworks are in the sky you can stand away from the crowds and still see them.

Here's a simple diagram to use. Also after 28 cruises we have only seen fireworks off the starboard side.
