Disney again, yes please! August 11-20/2018 PTR, Update 8/8, pg. 23. COMPLETE!!

Hey there and HAPPY SATURDAY!
Good that you figured out the Magical Express! Oh no about Delta changing the flight number and all that nonsense. Figures eh?? Glad it got sorted out. Yes, that would be sooo fun to meet up, I would love that!
I echo you: Get me into the Disney bubble. I wish we had as long as you two, but I will take whatever I can get.
I will put it out there right now, here are our pretty much final plans for the week (I haven't tinkered around with them lately, so this is probably it, ha):

August 27: ARRIVE!! Hit the MK for a little taste of fun that afternoon, don't want to make it toooo late in order to gear up for Monday.
August 28: Hollywood Studios for the whole day...I am travelling with two MEGA Star Wars fans, and they want to get the full taste of the Studios, to the point where they will be attending the
Dessert Party that evening.
August 29: Kona Café breakfast, followed by Animal Kingdom, then heading to Disney Springs that evening.
August 30: Benjamin does not know this yet, but he is going on a Pirate Cruise, leaving from the Yacht Club. We then are planning on a Chef Mickey's brunch, then Epcot.
August 31: 1900 Park Fare breakfast, then heading to the Studios again (doing Sci-Fi for lunch!), then heading to AK later for our FOP FastPass + and then Rivers of Light.
September 1: Crystal Palace breakfast, then MK allllll day (my favorite park!!!!!!!)
September 2: Sadly leaving that morning aboard the Tragical Express

Hopefully we can work something out, I know you are at the Poly (fun!) We are at the Riverside, I've never been there, so really looking forward to that. I am so READY for a vacation, I think we all are!!!!!!!

Sounds like it will be a great time at DHS with a nice character breakfast in between!

How sad it will be your last night, but I am sure you both will make the best of it!

2 weeks to go now!!

DHS is such a changing park now, I am glad a few faves are still around. I am excited to see the two princes at the breakfast! The last night comes fast no matter how long we stay.

I feel this way too about the Bon Voyage breakfast: we've never met Flynn or Eric so I'd love to do it for that reason, but nothing on the menu really stands out to me. I know my boys wouldn't be excited for the characters so the food would have to wow them and it doesn't..............I wish the Princes could be met more easily out and about in the parks!

Love your new shirts especially the ParkBound one You're close now! We're just home from our trip on Sat. and of course I'm ready to go back again........................

Hi everyone! Time is cruising along, soon we will be on our jet plane heading to Walt Disney World!

I did get my ME info straightened out so hopefully I will be getting those wonderful Poly luggage tags soon.

I heard some not so pleasant news today, The Express Transportation is stopping on 8/23/17 so this will not be an option for us, oh well, we will have to stick to our original plans and use regular old Disney buses.

Day 10 will be a quick few hours in the MK before we have to get on the tragical depress at 11:30.
We will get up and pack and use the airline check in service at the Poly before we head into MK to say goodbye to Mickey. We will ride PP and see Talking Mickey before we leave.

The last couple trips we have said goodbye to Mickey as our last attraction.

We will then go back to the Poly and wait for the bus, I sure hope the time creeps by on all our days at WDW. The time always goes by so fast. Day 10 will be in the books!

I have to make the ADR's for our February trip on 8/22/17. I know we will do a Wave breakfast since we are staying at the BLT and we plan on doing the UnDiscovered Nations tour at Epcot on Presidents Day, otherwise I have no plans yet.

I will come back and update again around that date to let you all know some of the dining choices I made.

I will also put in my firsts I am going to try to do this August trip

I got sad reading about your last day.....I hate even thinking about that. This has been SO much fun, making plans, reservations, FastPasses, etc. I am sort of dreading coming back to none of that....ah well, don't think about that now, right?!?!?!?!? I know every day will be magical and it's own great memory---I plan to savor every moment.

I called Disney last night to check on the AP discount for our November trip and we were able to upgrade to a river room view for no additional cost so I did! I was hoping to get money off for the standard but no go.

We could switch to POR Riverside for about 100.00 less, what do you all think? I may switch for the 100.00 difference, just not sure yet.

It is raining here today on my day off so I am baking and looking at Disney stuff!

I hope everyone has a good day, I will be looking at dining options today for the February trip. I make ADR's on Tuesday, I also read 8/22/17 is the best day to make airline reservations so I will be looking at that for the November trip.

If anyone has must do ADR's let me know, I am open to some new places!

Can I ask a Liberty Tree Tavern question? Have you ever had the Ooooey Gooooey Toffee Cake? I made a lunch reservation there just to try the Boston Cream Pie, ha. But I keep hearing about the Toffee Cake, some say it's to die for.
Just wondering if you or Andi has had it?

I am BEYOND excited Caroline. Tomorrow we go into the single digits, can't stand it!!!! I know it'll get here soon enough, but this wait time in between is sheer agony. How do you handle it??

My family has stayed at POR for every single one of our vacations (out of nostalgia for our Disneyland days and New Orlean's Square!) and stayed at Riverside our most recent trip. We love the resorts and their themes and found that with patience, taking the bus and not the monorail didn't make too big of a difference. If the hotel is not a vital part of your vacation (my family hardly spends any time in the room) then I think its definitely worth the savings that can then be attributed to some exciting dining options!

If you go back to page 1 on here I have a picture of the delicious ooey gooey toffee cake, it is so gooood!! I highly recommend it. What a rainy day it was yesterday, wow! I baked chocolate chip cookies and made chicken pot pie in the crock! I am so excited for the trip. I have to work 6 days in a row starting today so not loving that but once Thursday arrives I am off until 9/6/17 yippee!

Thanks for the input, I agree with you totally, we have stayed at Riverside before as well, I think I will switch because a hundred dollars is a good amount for spending money at Disney! We are not in the hotel to much, we do usually head back in the afternoon for a rest!

I ate that whole delicious dessert all by myself, Andi has nut/peanut allergy so she could not partake. It was so good. I did not eat again until the next day after that lunch. I was so full! Hey if you want some food entertainment while waiting for your trip, read my dining reports below in my signature. The reports are not as exciting as some of these talented writers on here but they are full of delicious food porn!
