Spouse and I got to have dinner at Victoria and Albert's this week. Extraordinary meal, sub-extraordinary pictures. Apologies, I should have used my actual camera rather than my phone but I was fairly flustered by the entire event.

My menu, my husband's was slightly different with an entirely different desert because he doesn't eat pork and the gelatin they use includes that.



Amuse-Bouche: Imperial Caviar with Ocean Kiss Oysters

Glacier 51 Tooth Fish and Alaskan King Crab with French White Asparagus


Wild Turbot with Toasted Capers and Preserved Lemon


"Gift from the kitchen" were two little pea raviolis, mine had a bacon foam and my husband's had Parmesan foam,


Poussin Ballotine with Ramp Gnocchi and House made Ricotta


Lamb Loin with Date and Garbanzo Bean Croquette



Australian Kobe-Style Beef with Bone Marrow Pain Perdu and Morels - with the Miyazaki Japanese Beef add on.

Victoria and Albert's cont.

Mimolette, Red Apple Compote and Toasted Hazelnuts


Another "Gift from the kitchen" this time "pre-desert". I don't have good descriptions. Husband got a Creme Brulee and I got some sort of bouncy very sweet beet creation. They were both delicious.


Actual deserts, Kona Chocolate Souffle with chocolate sauce and chocolate ice cream & White Peach Melba Parfait (which was way too simple a name for the complexity of the dish).

Now I am very sad! I had a reservation last year before they changed but had to cancel my trip and decided not to try for it this year. I thought they took this off. Guess I will be making my own soufflé.

I'm sorry! From what I can tell they change menu items frequently and this was what my husband got instead of the peach melba because of dietary requests.
