Disney tattoo policy?

Yes at least in my area of the country Tattoo shops are kind of hidden, not as much as before but not on the Main drag with a big sign outside. Its slowly getting more mainstream but still sometimes thought of as shady. Wasn't it Kansas or Oklahoma that just recently allowed tattoo shops in the state.

BTW I don't even think you can get your ears pierced on property.

We are in suburbia but there are many tattoo parlors on our "main streets" with big signs out front. One is right above the store we get a lot of the dance/ballet clothes for our kids ... so maybe varies by area. While I don't have a tattoo I'd say it's about 50/50 of people I know that do vs don't

While respecting the other services the Commandant once commented that what sailors and gi's do is not his concern but we are Marines and are held to a higher status. As to you concern about recruiting may I ask where you heard that? The Corps has had no problems with recruiting. And just to clarify some of my beliefs. I should point out that I am also Jewish and drawing on ourselves is one of the big no no's.
So, essentially, you are admitting that your personal religious views are being impressed upon your recruits? Nice.

As for where I got my information about low enrollment, it’s basically been reported by every news outlet for the last few years. Military enrollment is at an all time low. They are now offering waivers for prior criminal convictions like possession of marijuana, waivers for former mental health treatment, as well as lowering requirements like high school diplomas instead of GED’s. I’m honestly rather shocked you are in the military and haven’t heard that you have the lowest recruitment numbers in decades. Apparently, they are so hard up that if you quit and re-enlist you can get a $90,000 pay bonus.

A couple of recent news articles are below. I’ve included a variety of sources to avoid accusations of #fakenews.

Needing troops, Army offers $90k bonuses to re-enlist. (6/2017)

Yea I started to think about it more and there is a shop on the Main drag of our older Main street shopping district. It s fairly new.

I always love seeing pics of your leg sleeve @RebelHawk!

I personally would love to see a tattoo shop in Disney Springs but I think the biggest reason there shouldn't be one there is that vacations aren't a great time to get tattoos as you should limit sun exposure and can't swim until they're fully healed... but I have 15 tattoos and 5 or 6 of them are Disney so what do I know? BTW if I was in a military uniform exactly one would be visible and that would depend on sleeve length.

Very good point on how getting a tattoo would impact your vacation. I know with disney Springs they are trying to draw in locals as well but definitely a good point

Exactly what I was going to post.
I don’t have any tattoos, but my older daughter and son in law each have multiple.
The aftercare for a tattoo makes vacation in Florida not a good time to get a tattoo. I would imagine Disney would be concerned about liability - if people get an infection, Disney is likely to get blamed.

There are some similar issues with any kind of piercing, which is part of the reason I think they don’t have ear piercing on property.

I have a few tattoos as does my husband. I find that with larger pieces they often require 1. Multiple sessions 2. topping up once healed which is why i always get Tattooed somewhere local. The artist who starts the project should ideally finish it.

You can’t limit the size of the tattoo as the tattoo artists would probably be bored and unsatisfied professionally.

I dont think it would be practical as with the nature of the florida weather, themepark rides and resorts I can see lots of bad aftercare happening. And LOTS of infections therefor lawsuits.

So my oppinion is NOT FOR DISNEY! That Capt. Hook tattoo is amazing!

You’re listing Marines in the same thread as the Army.

We are NOT the army

Your son is a Marine stationed in a Security Force detachment on an AF base?

Are you sure?

This is ridiculous! Of course I know where and what my Marine Staff Sergeant son is doing. There is is more to his deployment that does not need to be put on a Disney Tattoo board question.

The thread is about Tattoos and Disney, do not stray from the thread to question me about my Marine family.

@heidijanesmith - Please thank your son for his service, and thank you for your sacrificing him to ensure our safety! By the way, love your name! :o
