Euro Disney's fiscal first-half loss narrowed as more guests visited Europe's largest theme-park and the company collected more rent. The loss before one-time items shrank to 20.4 million euros ($18 million) in the six months ended March 31 from 31.1 million euros in the year-earlier period. Sales rose 4.2% to 420 million euros, the company said in a faxed statement.

"Our sales growth fits with our strategic vision of combining development as a tourist destination and an urban center,'' Chief Executive Jay Rasulo said in the statement.

Including one time charges, the company lost 24.2 million euros.
