Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We were just at GF RPC 2 weeks ago. I was thinking the same thing about the rooms. Especially after staying at YC the beginning of the week. The decor at GF was very underwhelming & seemed outdated to me too. The carpet especially looked worn or dirty.!

I know, right? YC has maybe spoiled some other room styles for us, the bathroom especially.

Funny story, we are getting ready to remodel a few rooms in our house. I made all my cabinet, vanity & counter selections, even picking counters that were outside my allotment. Showed everything to my DDIL later. She laughed & said I got my inspiration from the YC. I laughed it off, thought she was kidding. Until we walked into the YC room again. Yep...... exactly the same counter. Vanity color & fixtures are pretty much the same. Apparently I want to live at the YC! :rolleyes1

Couple of last comments...

- Totally uneventful check-in experience. Checked-in at the main building and was given CL paperwork there. No introduction or hand off to SL CMs, were told to walk over ourselves. After being greeted and whisked away at AKL earlier this year, these other experiences just never seem to live up! :-)

- I have read reports of GF making one week out phone calls direct from the resort CL CMs, but I never heard from them. I am not sure how consistent this new practice is and seems to only be some resorts.

- We were out every night so didn't get to experience desserts.

- Room was serviced every day before we returned mid day (usually 1ish) which I very much appreciate.

- I like how both GF pools have legitimate pool-side servers. Something some other resorts (ahem, Poly) don't do well.

- Being able to go to either pool and find seating and (usually) shade is such a nice change of pace from places like Poly. I love Poly, but gosh does the pool chair crowding get old sometimes. GF is much easier and worry-free, at least in our travels.

- The orchestra in the main building in the evenings is just one of the coolest things out there.

- Monorails were quick and efficient (excluding the MNSSHP return trip, ugh).

- Took a Minnie Van a few times, love having that as an alternative for certain trips.

- Missed seeing Richard out front.

Thanks for putting up with the post hogging with all the pics, happy to answer any questions.
DD must be growing up!princess: She would have been too wiggly in the past for you to take so many pix!

Yep I agree about check in. At least at poly you can access lounge right away. I had to beg for an escort lol.(well it felt that way):rotfl:

My May trip we moved from std rpc to a dormer in BPK. It was definitely more noticeable how the rooms were laid out/sizing. For 2 people its not a problem . A family of 4 or 5 would want the extra space.

We had our room serviced by our return too! :thumbsup2

I agree about the pools too. GF and CR are more relaxing for sure.:beach:

Thanks for all the pix! I took barely any this trip.

Just have to wonder after the refurb at SL didn't address the poor condition of some of the guest rooms (as seen by @GADisneyDad14 's review), how long can they go on looking like that before Disney does something about it? Any thoughts or input? We have an OKW 2br stay coming up in the spring with family but are already planning an RPC stay for the following spring. We love GF and are definitely willing to overlook some things, but the state of the GF guest rooms is discouraging!

I was in the rooms just after that last refurb. Scary that is all new furniture and will be quite a while until that gets switched out.

Love all of the food pictures. You didn't miss much with the desserts, pretty standard. I found the appetizers meal-worthy but I had everything: breads, cheese, hot apps, etc.

Your room did look a bit worn. RPC was spotless; I wonder if they prioritize cleaning in that building.

Also loved the music in the lobby.

The toilet clearance is scary/amazing. Someone had to sweat that one out.

Maybe they chose the Buddha beer because it says 'Floridian' on it.

@trishadono , yikes! Did you find the RPC rooms to be in rough shape last week?
Honestly I think all disney rooms show some sort of wear and tear. They are always booked vs non disney resorts. However nothing bothers me, Im on vacation.

Most is stain on a carpet, a chip in furniture, paint job that looks like a 5 year old did it.

For as often as I have been going for years a new room only lasts the first 6-12 months.

I wouldn't trade em for the world. I find non disney hotels depressing.

My favorite room in all of our WDW travels (other than CR Tower Club) was our fourth floor standard view room at RPC in Feb 2016. I loved that room and thought it was immaculate. I can usually take or leave rooms, would rather be around the resort or parks anyway, but this room was so pleasant. Not sure why I have such strong memories over that room - the same exact design I was just kind of griping about above - but it’s always stuck with me.

I guess I will concede on the beer choice. Upon further Google review, it is a local brewery. It was the style of beer (hefifizen, sp?) that caught me by surprise. It did not agree with my Bud Light palate. :rotfl:

@GADisneyDad14 , that’s great to hear! We loved RPC too!
P.S. I asked a cast member how we could book Tower Club, and they said it didn’t exist.:rotfl:
