When we visited in March, we were told that we had to park my ECV at the covered area across from Columbia House and transfer to a wheelchair. Since Hubby cannot push me due to his health issues, we had to miss our favorite ride. Does anyone who has been there recently know if the transfer proceedure is still the case?

pretty sure it is as I have never been able to bring my chair in to the stretching room. depending on my condition at the time of riding, I have either skipped it and gone around via the employee corridors and stepped into a doom buggy or left my chair out by the graves and walked in.

I now a lot of people have not been able to bring there ECV in this line how ever my friend has ( it was 9 or so month ago and we where using my DAS so FP) and I was just there 3 days a go and when I was in line there was someone about 2 groups behind me in an ECV. and like @mrsjab said you take it up to the stretching room then you go out a side door and parkie by the graves and either walk in or I guess if you can not walk this fair then they may have you use a wheel chair, but a CM escorts you from this point so more then likely they can push you the 25 or so yards you have to walk ( my friend can walk so we just walk over, and this past time the Cm took me then they am back to get the lady behind me.

Thank you both...I had been, in the past, able to take ecv into the stretching room then through a side door to park the ecv by the exit area crypts and walk the short way to the exit area to board the doom buggies...last March they directed me too far away and to use wheelchair to enter line.

Is the wheelchair one that a person can self propel?

They may still let you go in the stretching room if you ask I can not go in due to my disability but they may not let you in any ways

I was starting to think the special ECV parking area was put there just for me since others report being allowed into the HM with their ECV's - lol! Just to note that I had a fast pass and the ride didn't have a long wait even in standby so I don't think crowding was the issue.

I was just there (early July) and was told I couldn't take the ECV in at all - had to park it and have a family member push me in a wheelchair so I'd think they are still asking people to transfer to a WC.

We went on Haunted Mansion twice in the last few days. The first time - I took my ECV through the fast pass line, skipped the stretching room, then up to the stopped ride to board. The second time - a Cast Member escorted us through.

The third time - we could not ride because we were told to use a wheelchair & park the ECV outside in the rain. We were not willing to leave the ECV in the rain, so we had to skip the ride.

IMHO - if we must park ECVs "over there", can Disney please provide a covered area to leave our scooters??

Thanks for posting this! If they make you park by CHH, that's new since I was there in December. We have ALWAYS gone through the line, last into first room, last into stretch room, then led down corridor, parked at graves then came in exit and loaded at unload platform.

Love how Disney is so has different rules for different days, where you never know what to expect, but it sounds like for HM you just need to ask the CM on what to do that day, or that time.

My friend and I visited WDW in August with her 2 young teenage grandchildren, both of us had scooters. The fast pass line was long due to previous malfunction of ride but was now was open. The CM came to us and told us that we would have to park the scooters and walk in. We told her that we were not able to walk and stand all that time that is why we have a scooter. She gave us a really hard time. At one point she told us that we could transfer into a wheelchair and children could push us. How inappropriate!! My friend asked her if she was refusing to allow us to bring in scooters and then she said no, I am asking you. We finally said no and she just left us alone. We went into the stretching room then stopped by the door that you used to bring the scooters through and we got on that way. We didn't have to wait in line, they just had us go on a different way. We did go to guest services the next day and explained situation and they were very apologetic about it. Next time we were told to cast for supervisior if problem should occur again. I guess it just depends on how persistence people ar e with the cast members. Good luck.

This is the one attraction that drives me crazy. I never know what I am suppose to do. We went last week. We did Haunted Mansion 3 different times during the 2 days we went to MK.

1st time we went into the stretching room with ECV ,stayed to the right against the wall. After exiting the room CM led us down a hallway to the exit area. Was told would have to park ECV outside by the graveyard. My son was with me and parked it for me while my daughter and I waited. It would have taken me forever to walk that distance with my cane. They loaded us at the exit.

2nd time I was told that I needed a to transfer to a wheelchair they had parked across from Columbia Harbor House. Into the stretching room and loaded at the exit, park the chair outside by graveyard. Again son took it outside.

3rd time rode ECV into stretching room. Exited and was told I had to get off ECV and to go to the side of the normal line queue to load. They took my ECV and parked it outside.

Each time my son or daughter had to bring back ECV or wheelchair back to the exit. Just looking for some consistency.
